“I read a news story the other day saying that "w00t" was so popular among online gamers and todays society that it may be considered as a word for the dictionary. I just want to go on record as saying that I used "woot" many many times starting several years ago...so there. Lizs can back me up on this...” 11:40:10 AM 12/17/07 “yep, I'm a w00ter too.” 11:45:11 AM 12/17/07 “You introduced me to it!” 11:48:08 AM 12/17/07 “Woot the fook are yoo tooking aboot?” 11:48:32 AM 12/17/07 “LOL Woot !” 11:48:59 AM 12/17/07 “i've been using woot for several years. probably used it here a time or two.” 11:51:40 AM 12/17/07 11:53:07 AM 12/17/07 “depending on who you talk to it means ... in gaming - We Owned the Other Team in RPGs - Wow, Loot. some people like to say its from > whoot, there it is" or from Root in computer language. I go with the We Owned the Other Team” 11:56:20 AM 12/17/07 “Stew, could you pluuuuuuuueze tell me what "woot" means? I've asked my kids and they just laugh at me. So I just started using words like "groovey" and "gasser" and "don't have a cow" to get them back and they look at me like I have a third eye. What's a parent to do?” 11:58:55 AM 12/17/07 “ducttape, that woot was founded in 2004, w00t! started before that.” 11:59:01 AM 12/17/07 “Now I am more confused than ever.” 11:59:43 AM 12/17/07 “Woot means something good just happened” 12:00:23 PM 12/17/07 “Oh, groovey!” 12:01:00 PM 12/17/07 “if you were redneck, you'd say ... YeeHaw if you are religeuos you say ... hallelujah If you were a valley girl you'd say ... Like OMG! If you are a gamer you say ... w00t! I pwned your sorry ass. last edited: 12/17/07 12:03:25 PM” 12:02:33 PM 12/17/07 “Yep, w00t = something good happened. w00t is a gamer thing. It goes back to desktop RPG games but it became common with online gaming and l33t-speak.” 12:21:25 PM 12/17/07 “Are regular "woot" and gamer "w00t" two different things?” 12:26:16 PM 12/17/07 “Not really, it's just used in slightly different contexts. Nowadays it's pretty much the same.” 12:30:42 PM 12/17/07 “So first there was the word "woot," and then someone online spelled it with zeros to make it a gamer thing...but they mean the same thing?” 12:33:08 PM 12/17/07 “woot = good. Got it. With my luck, now that I know the meaning, they will start using some other word!” 12:40:48 PM 12/17/07 “l33t (pronounced leet, short for elite) is nothing more than a nerdy way to spell a word with a bit of slang thrown in. Substitute w00t or woot for "Hell yeah" Same difference. last edited: 12/17/07 12:42:55 PM” 12:42:21 PM 12/17/07 “Yeah I know what "woot" means, I've heard of that for a billion years. If they put "w00t" in the dictionary, I'd think they would first have to have the regular "woot," since "w00t" is just a derivative of that.” 12:52:29 PM 12/17/07 “l33t pwnage...........w00t” 12:54:50 PM 12/17/07 “the reason kids use numbers for letters and weird spellings of words is for text messaging. I hate it when they use it with full keyboards.” 4:52:32 PM 12/17/07 “Ha, Michael..I never saw the word til you wrote it here on TT..So there..lol” 5:00:45 PM 12/17/07 “I think that there are already enough words in the English language to express one's thoughts accurately and concisely without adding crap like "w00t".” 5:41:40 PM 12/17/07 “Lewis Carroll would disagree.” 5:46:44 PM 12/17/07 “Like OMG! I've learned so much today, like cool!” 5:48:58 PM 12/17/07 “I'm old school. I prefer a good HIP! HIP! HURRAH!” 5:51:38 PM 12/17/07 “Spirit, you can take off that mask. We know who you are.” 5:52:08 PM 12/17/07 “yo, owl, did you say that when they added "cool"?” 5:54:12 PM 12/17/07 “Shove IT Sarge :) and I mean that in the most kindest, lovingest way.” 5:54:45 PM 12/17/07 “Here here, Hyway. Smashing good repartee. Bully on you!” 6:07:34 PM 12/17/07
