“As far as I am aware there is no law against drinking in or around shelters. I've never had a ranger say, "Hey, there's no dirnking or smoking or cussing allowed here. You gotta turn over your booze and leave." Now in state parks that may be a different story . . .”

“Here's the deal:

Sunday: Meet at the SGL parking area on 325 around noonish. Do some kind of dayhike on one of the trails in the area . . . go up to 225 and pack in to Table Rock Overlook for the evening.

Monday: Meet at the top of the ridge on PA 225 arounf 9ish-9:30. There's a parking area on the North side of the road right by the 225 overpass. You can't miss the overpass. It's a footbridge over the road right at the top of the ridge by the wickedly sharp turn.

We're looking at about 7 miles from Clark's Ferry to PA 225. Otherwise show up at will, park at PA 225 and haul your pack in to the shelter--about three miles North on the AT.

If the weather is crappy then we'll just haul in to the shelter and get comfy.”
