“The cool story behind that was that Bob Dole was in the leadership of the Republicans in the Senate at the time. After a brief canvass they knew that they would not have enough votes to actually impeach Nixon. But Bob Dole and company went to Nixon and told them regardless they would NOT support him and that he needed to resign.

What does that say about the Charachter of the leadership in the two parties...at say DIFFERING TIMES in history?”
