I forgot that I let the dog out to go potty before leaving for work...

I got a call from our vet---a neighbor said the dog was out. I got permission from nursing supervisor to hurry home and get the dog. Got home and she was waiting for me on the steps. Nobody had tied her up or anything, shes a good dog---would never run off but she sure was cold and wanted in real bad. I'm such a jerk! I've NEVER forgotten her before. I guess I was in a huge hurry and with the phone calls as I was heading out...I forgot :(

thats what happens when I work 12 days in a row and dont get enough SLEEP :P

Of course I wont mention the part about being in a rush and accidently taking the wrong turn off and ending up lost in Gary on the way home to let in the forgotten dog...

Although the temps are much milder here, we forget and leave the dog outside occasionally (we're old too) Luckily, like your dog, she's a smart dog.....she never leaves the yard.

You mean you don't give your dog a hug and a kiss before you go to work? Shame on you!

I usually do....but I was trying to get ready for work at the same time as doing important buisness on the phone and getting everything in order....then was rushed out the door by cmb even before I could think about anything....

damn, I need a VACATION! Think I'll take off and go on the sierrapalloza snow fest...

lol, I do that about 3x per year. My dog looks at it as an adventure. He climbs fences and is tickled pink to have a chance to do what he generally wants to do, but never is allowed. he comes with a built in winter coat so the cold doesn't bug him. If he's left out in the summer he's miserable though.
Now, if it's Birch's dog who gets left out I do feel bad. She's gotten real old, real quick. Can't take the cold, but in summer is content to sleep on the deck in the sun all day. Kinda weird having two dogs complee opposite of each other.

Anyways, glad Sasha survived and you have a boss who understands the love of animals. =)

Oh please....we all forget (LOL). One day our two chessies got out the back gate (been left unlocked). I came home to find them on the front porch soaking wet from the pond.

on a more depressing note, you really should not forget about your dogs and leave them outside.
i had to investigate a possible animal cruelty case once, because the owners brother forgot about the two dogs he was babysitting. the puggle died.
no charges were filed with us (it was neglect, not cruelty) but brother sued his broter for loss of dog.

so just be careful please..

carry on

I bet she enjoyed it untill she got cold. No doubt all the neighbor hood kids were playing with her. I think she's forgiven me though. She was sleeping on my side of the bed last night :)

me too!
but for a different reason...

A friend wants to join our upcoming BSP winter trip, and I was going thru the motions of having her added...though she knows the rules and it's too close to the trip to change things. I only agreed to try since another friend asked me to.

After pulling the info out of her that I needed, one peice at a time, she asked if I'd tell her if I didn't want to do this...so I did...I don't think it went over too well, but she knows the regs on these trips...
