Has anyone had any experiences with non-paying bidders on ebay? In the past month I have had 2 auction winners who will not pay or even respond to e-mails. Really ticks me off!

give 'em seven days then slap that unpaid dispute on them. You'll at least get your final value fee back...but you're screwed on the listing fees.

I had it happen once ... it really wasn't good for my BP.

I did that with the first one. Looks like I will be doing it again. The sad thing is, it is not a lot of money, in both cases it is only about 15.00.

i had a buyer..win a bid at 2pm..and give me negative feedback 30 minutes later in french..what a basturd. ebay before nights end had deleted him....plus the feedback..and refunded the final value. He/She did the same thing to 4 different sellers that afternoon..still burnt me up.

I really don't think people realize there are fees involved...and then there are those that are just #&%!$z.

I had a particularly valuable item that I paid something like $20 to showcase. I was thrilled when someone went for the "buy it now" price within hours. I wasn't so thrilled when they said they wanted to pay me with a personal check, send a truck to pick up the item and have me Western Union any overpayment to a London address.

They had their account closed the next day. eBay wouldn't refund my listing fee, only credit a small portion for a successful relist. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed off.

They've since made it possible to require PayPal payment before a "buy it now" will close the auction, but it didn't help me on that one.

Dayum y'all! So if'n somebody is obviously in the wrong, is there anything Ebay will do to rid of a negative reply?? I mean if somebody dikkers around with you and you leave obvious neg feedback, they're just gonna return the favor, no?

Gathermoss's situation seems abnormal on Ebay. Normally (I would guess) if you leave a neg feedback, you'll just be getting one in return, right?

ebay cares about it's customers (buyers and sellers). most people on ebay are good people but like any environment it will have it's bad apples... a minority that will muddy the waters for purposes of crime or entertainment. when a deadbeat buyer scams you and you lose your listing fee remember that you and ebay BOTH were ripped off by the deadbeat buyer. ebay runs an expensive business and their business model isn't based on ripping off your listing fee... they want their cut of a closed, successful auction and a repeat buyer/seller (a community). the listing fee probably doesn't even cover their cost for the failed transaction.

No kidding Jimmy, I love the heck outa Ebay. But are there any kinda "reasonable" protections for your feedback page. I get the idea that basically you'll be trading neg's with a butthole, even tho you're reimbursed your minimal auction expenses, and even tho you are completely and obviously NOT in the wrong. Yes?

Everything is automated E-mail. There needs to be a way to contact someone from ebay to discuss the matters person to person, like a customer service rep. I'm sure there is a way, but it will most likely be a pain to do.
