Somehow "NUTSHELL" Seems Appropriate
"In a nutshell, we'll take a concept from the show and talk briefly about how it translates to real-world living."

What you really mean is: "how it relates to your religious concepts".

The Wedding Feast At Boca:
"Good Lord, we're out of cocaine!"

"Take those sacks of flour and draw some out and take it to the chief steward."

"Everyone serves the good coke first and then the inferior coke after the guests have become coked-out. But you have kept the good coke until now."

"It's a freakin' miracle!"

My bud really digs that show. I didn't watch it (too busy with karate classes at the time) - but after seeing a special on the making of the newer movie (which I didn't see), I was really impressed with how the show was done - so we've decided to join forces and do this.

It's an excuse to get a bunch of guys together on some fun-common ground entertainment in an environment where we can then discuss our faith. It's just something different. I personally don't get much out of sermons, and have a much greater appreciation for real-world application type things. There should be plenty of sin and real-world decision making in that series to warrant a discussion which we can apply to our lives. The discussions will be fairly brief, but knowing my friend, very propitious. (I used a thesaurus)

That sounds like a real hen session.

“That sounds like a real hen session.”

MarkO, you might be the last person who should make such a comment.

We were thinking about sitting on the front porch (on the hood), and drinking beers and cooking hot dogs on our portable charcoal grill, but we decided for this instead. Maybe we can try your way next time.

Be sure to blast of your sessions with a couple of 8 balls, ya know, just to get in with the "flavor" of the show.

To really get into the flavor of the show, invite a couple of Miami hookers over and then shoot a couple of baddies with your sawed off.

Oh, and keep a crocodile in your living room.

The premier season of Miami Vice was awesome. It was the first TV show to use the MTV style. It was a beautiful thing. I think it lost a lot between season 1 and 2 though.

Howard Cosell would be proud.

Interesting experiment (?) but may I suggest using Baywatch instead of Miami Vice?

Eat it, Sarge.

I've raised a house full of real men in touch with the real world, not a bunch of bible-quoting pansies wringing their hands about "the way things ought to be".

What was the original topic anyway?

How did this stray off discussion about Loni and Lynda?
