I think the one person is free standing if you use your poles, thats all I got...

I am impressed by looks specs.

Get one so you can report on durability, etc.

I think I would go with the Double Rainbow. It's an extra half pound, but well-worth it.

I know several people that have them and all are delighted...though that could be about what they're smoking. Sadly, I only have the Virga, Virga 2 and Contrail; not looking for another at present. I recommend that you buy it. You're a rich bastard. Well, you may not be rich...

I had my mind made up for the SixMoon Lunar Duo, but now, with the Double Rainbow, I am seriously rethinking that position.

My first choice in a new tent was the Rainbow, by Henry didn't have any in stock and I didn't want to wait. So I got the Contrail instead. I love the tent, but not completely confident in the rear strut design. It hasn't caused me any problems so far, but seems a little flimsy. Probably user error. Everyone I know that has a Tarptent has been satisfied.

Hmmm, must be something I can say about a rear strut...

I'm giving serious consideration to the Eureka Backcountry 1 Tent At 3 lbs. 14 oz. it is about a pound heavier and $20 more than a number of other tents on sale. My gut feeling is that it will provide a little more durability.

Good luck on your selection.

CD
yea, that rear strut design on the contrail is kinda weird. youre not the only person who has had problems with it.

how long ago was it that henry was out of the rainbow?
