Parade Magazine's Interview with Bhutto

“Got the Parade magazine in the Sunday newspaper and there is an interview in it with Bhutto as though they didn't know she was killed. It's about her strategy and future....kinda strange, guess it went to press BEFORE she was killed.”

“I listened to a interview on NPR with the editor of Parade. They have an early deadline so the Bhutto interview was already printed when she got killed. He mention that it cost them upward of 5 million dollars to print an edition but the decision to run was not a monetary issue. They felt that her words needed to be heard. His stance during the interview was contradictory and when he got done the first thing I though was BullSh%$.”

“I'm keepin this issue as a 'collector' piece...”

“It was weird that they did the issue without any acknowledgement of her death. It goes to show how far in advance the printed the issue.

There had to be some money involved. They could have changed the front cover to reflect the assination and added an editorial note - but that would have cost them bucks. So, I'm guessing they paid Gail Sheehy big bucks for the article as well.”

“My wife read it and commented to me "hey, they're talking like she isn't dead!" that's when I noticed it. I don't read Parade at all.”

“This piece ran at this time because it was already in the pipeline 3 weeks ago. After she got whacked almost every news source waxed poetic on how this piece was going to be viewed post-mordum -- this story was ready two weeks before she got blown away.

This story is nothing new.”

I looked over at NGB and said "Hey, this chick is the one who got whacked, right?"
