Then again, those knuckleheads (republicans) got us in the mess we are currently in, and have already voted for Bush, so they are too stupid to vote in thier best interests anyway. Barak will get moderate voters, and every dem (Hillary better sack up and get on board when she loses). PS - When you call Mr. Obama by his middle name (Hussein) in a context that makes him seem like someone who is or likes terrorists, you have exposed yourself as the dumb christ-o-fascist redneck that you may possibly be. Thank god/God/Buddha/Yaweh/some cow/a creator/Allah that GWB will finally be gone. It's the 20+% of dip#&%!$s in this country that still support him that we need to listen to, and vote the exact opposite in 08'.” 11:05:12 AM 1/29/08 “The silly libbies will be whipped into line by Hillary!” 11:21:03 AM 1/29/08 “Hillary is toast............” 11:25:18 AM 1/29/08 “Hillary is so sillary.” 11:46:39 AM 1/29/08 “Who the #&%!$ voted for Bush?” 12:36:40 PM 1/29/08 “I did, and I would again if I could.” 12:41:08 PM 1/29/08 “tiltypoo is a Hillary! boy.” 1:29:15 PM 1/29/08 “At least Sarge has the balls to admit it, as embarassing as it is...” 1:31:12 PM 1/29/08 “Buddha makes a veiled claim of racism. Republican's won't vote for Obama, because he is a naive loon. Look at his response to the State of the Union address. On the other hand 80% of Black Democrats in South Carolina voted for Obama. No claims of Racism in the media. There has never been a more clear cut case of racial voting.” 6:30:10 PM 1/29/08 “Buddha-- -given the track record of Democrats (Byrd the KKK member, the Democrats' pro-segregation history, etc.), I'd say they are as prone to vote against a black man as any Republicans.” 6:33:22 PM 1/29/08 “Most all the ones who thought that way began leaving the Democratic Party in retaliation for the passage of the Voting Rights Act in '64. They were more pissed at LBJ and the other Democrats about that than they were at the Republicans for Reconstruction! (and you know how pissed they were about Reconstruction, even a hundred years later! < G >) But they managed to swallow that somehow and went Somewhere Else..... < WINK > Strom Thurmond and that crowd. I suppose there was nowhere else for them to go, realistically. All the state level politicians in Georgia whose main interest keeping themselves in power switched to the Republican Party very soon after the Democrats lost control of the state house in later years. Recall that when the Republican Party began it was full of radicals opposed to a relatively small number of powerful people ($$$) controlling the political process. How times have changed ---- Now anything proposed to limit that influence is labeled an infringement of First Amendment rights because Money=Speech, all-of-a-sudden, < G >” 7:17:59 PM 1/29/08 “Actually the case could be made that Strom left the Democratic party when he abandoned his views on segregation, hired black staff members, etc. All the state level politicians in Georgia whose main interest keeping themselves in power switched to the Republican Party very soon after the Democrats lost control of the state house in later years Couldn't it be said then, that they left the Democratic party not because of views on racial issues, but because they wanted to stay in power? And so far in this election year the only accusations I've seen involving race as an issue with the candidates are those leveled at Bill Clinton, a white southern democrat whose wife is in a nasty primary battle with a black man. It seems that the enormous popularity he has enjoyed is taking a hit because of his willingness to make off-hand remarks about Obama's race as a factor in the primaries. last edited: 1/29/08 7:40:48 PM” 7:34:28 PM 1/29/08 “PS - When you call Mr. Obama by his middle name (Hussein) in a context that makes him seem like someone who is or likes terrorists, you have exposed yourself as the dumb christ-o-fascist redneck that you may possibly be. It's the 20+% of dip#&%!$s in this country that still support him that we need to listen to, and vote the exact opposite in 08'.” Buddha Bear 2:05:12 PM 1/29/08 Yo kettle, perhaps you should stop with the name calling before you call out others for it (if you can call using someone's actual name to name calling)” 8:02:23 PM 1/29/08 “Thurmond was like our hometown scab, from just twenty miles up the river. We knew him very well. Thurmond was happy to have sex with the maid, but thought Segregation was his ticket to the White House. Then he intergrates his staff when it becomes politically advantageous? Who knows what goes on in the mind of a creature like that? Modern-day Republicans are eating up the Clinton thing now, but it's more than ironic, seeing as how they've been pitting poor Whites against poor Blacks and generally screwing over the disadvantaged for so many decades. They've done really well with that, up to now. But did they ever overplay their hand this last go-'round. They ran the US Government like their own personal club, and they were determined to squeeze out that last nickel.... until it became so blatant that even the Bush Justice Department couldn't ignore it any longer. That's why they're on the outside looking in. Of the all the possible outcomes this year, I think it would be intriguing to wind up with McCain in the White House and a sufficient number of Democrats in Congress to override his vetoes. But what sort of Supreme Court nominees might we expect? Sure, he's making all sorts of SocialConservative noises now, but how about two years down the road? ” 8:14:50 PM 1/29/08 “You've devoted some time to outlining your views of Strom Thurmond, but you haven't addressed the fact that Robert Byrd, a democratic senator, is a former chapter president (or whatever they call it) in the KKK, and credits his decision to enter politics to his time in the KKK. I think it's a stretch to claim republicans are worse than democrats in areas of race relations. Modern-day Republicans are eating up the Clinton thing now, but it's more than ironic, seeing as how they've been pitting poor Whites against poor Blacks and generally screwing over the disadvantaged for so many decades. It's not modern day republicans "eating up the Clinton thing", it's the media. As far as I know, none of the Republican candidates for president have mentioned the friction between obama's camp and hilary's over Bill's comments about race, or Hilary's comments about MLK--comments which seemed to marginalize his efforts, according to some. If you turn on (or read) the news in the past week though, it's been everywhere. Anyway, as usual I've managed to start steering a topic off course, and I have to get to bed early tonight, so I'll try to check for a response tomorrow night. Try to control your puns tonight too, young man. last edited: 1/29/08 9:28:58 PM” 9:28:03 PM 1/29/08 “so are you a DEM or REP? Or are you just a BULL S%$#er.... last edited: 1/30/08 2:40:55 AM” 2:39:15 AM 1/30/08 “Modern-day Republicans are eating up the Clinton thing now, LMAO!” 3:46:55 AM 1/30/08 “XL has fractured fairy tales attributed to him but Tilt doesn't? Tilt = XL Lite.” 3:55:52 AM 1/30/08 “Tilt sees no wrong with what the democrats do. They are enlightened paladins striving for the betterment of humanity, but they are only human and can be forgiven their human frailties. Its just those aweful and evil republicans that are causing the democrats to tear each other apart in their democratic primaries.” 4:16:08 AM 1/30/08 “It's to bad the Democraps refuse to see their own evil, tiltypoo, especially. Remember N.H.? Hillary! won easy. All the polls said before that Obama had a huge lead. It's clear the White Guilt Democraps told the polls they were going to vote Obama, yet when in the privacy of the voting booth, voted for the White. White Democrats are Closet Racists. Typical Democraps. Say one thing, do another. last edited: 1/30/08 7:06:03 AM” 7:04:02 AM 1/30/08 “People who call others racist have, a better than average, chance of being rascist themselves. last edited: 1/30/08 7:32:57 AM” 7:24:08 AM 1/30/08 “Robert Byrd has said on many occasions over the years that joining the KKK when he was 18 was the worst mistake of his life. Strom Thurmond never renounced his views on segregation.” 7:27:36 AM 1/30/08 “salebored , are you calling Tilt and buddha racists?” 7:29:55 AM 1/30/08 “With Edwards dropping out, the big question is whether Obama or Clinton will pick up those supporters.” 7:31:15 AM 1/30/08 “I'm using tiltypoo and bubba bore 'logic' *snicker* in calling the NH Demorats 'racists' for not voting for poor Obama. Did y'all really expect anything but a justication of KKK Byrd from tiltypoo? LOL last edited: 1/30/08 7:36:51 AM” 7:35:31 AM 1/30/08 “I'm saying that people who continually talk of race and blame others of being racist are more often just that. I do believe that all people are racist, but spend more time covering it than they do stopping it.” 7:37:53 AM 1/30/08 “But what sort of Supreme Court nominees might we expect? ďż˝ Sure, he's making all sorts of SocialConservative noises now, but how about two years down the road? - Tilt Wow, I didn't think Tilt was capable of anything more than the vilest hateful sentiment towards those not exactly like him, but he makes a point here. From what I've seen, most socially conservative republicans hate McCain only slightly less than the democrats, calling him a RINO, among other things.” 7:38:15 AM 1/30/08 “Obama will be a easyer win for McCain or Rommey. *Pass Over The Popcorn* I'm enjoying Hillary!'s lies and deceit finially being noticed by the brighter Dems.” 7:50:12 AM 1/30/08 “Don't count Bush out just yet. Carl Rove has manipulated the repub candidates to flog each other until the two survivors are about crippled and broke, and at the convention when things appear deadlocked, who will be put forward as the candidate that will rally the Republicans? Laura Bush, with George as first lady. At least with George as the first lady we know the White House interns will be safe from lecherous fat white men in positions of power.” 7:54:13 AM 1/30/08 “I'm enjoying Hillary!'s lies and deceit finially being noticed by the brighter Dems. If she were to win the Democrap nomination, they'd quickly forget.” 7:57:24 AM 1/30/08 “No doubt Sarge, notice I said brighter dems. I don't think ANY of the TT loonie libbies have denounced her methods. They will all vote for her in the general election. last edited: 1/30/08 8:05:11 AM” 8:03:30 AM 1/30/08 “That's like saying "tall midgets".” 8:06:52 AM 1/30/08 “'brighter' It's a matter of degree.” 8:08:48 AM 1/30/08 “How's this? That's like saying "better visioned absolutely 100% completely blind people".” 8:10:19 AM 1/30/08 “Billary is AWFUL! There's quite a few enlightened Dems that know this... But, you're right, most don't bother to do perform their civic duty by endeavoring to be informed about our elected officials... Edwards is dropping out today... From what I hear, he's expected to campaign for Obama. This is beginning to look like an Obama/Edwards ticket...” 8:12:29 AM 1/30/08 “An Obama/Edwards ticket would rock. If Edwards endorses Obama, hopefully, he will do so before 2/5, I hope Obama can run with the momentum.” 8:58:52 AM 1/30/08 “This is beginning to look like an Obama/Edwards ticket...” I am sure that prospect has SS, Sargie and the rest of the uber-right crapping their pants and 'tis fun to watch. Lessee, a chance for a clean break from the tired old political machine of yore (and I do mean OOOOLLLD), or young, progressive, liberal minds who can deliver a political speach without reading off of que cards and actually generate interest and hope for a lot (and in this case, I would be willing to bet the definite majority) of the general populous. Hmmm. Which one, which one... It would CRUSH!” 9:18:47 AM 1/30/08 “my choices for president, as follows: 1. Obama 2. McCain (although, his hardlined position on Iraq sucks and I hope a democratic congress would get us out of Iraq, finally). 3. Hillary.. god she scares me. 4. there is no 4. as for blame.. Iraq is Bush's fault. it's all Bush's fault and only Bush's fault. He is completely responsible for that trash dump of a problem. Only he can be blamed for that.” 9:19:32 AM 1/30/08 “Mitt Romney has no business running for president. He is a complete moron.” 9:21:18 AM 1/30/08 “I hope Romney gets the nomination.” 9:23:10 AM 1/30/08 “...or young, progressive, liberal minds Please explain that one. What exactly does a progressive liberal mind believe? ...who can deliver a political speach without reading off of que cards Because there's nothing more important in a president. (rolls eyes)” 9:28:57 AM 1/30/08 “Mitt Romney has no business running for president. He is a complete moron.” EarthNsky 11:21:18 AM 1/30/08 Are we (again) going to stick to the theme that Republicans are dumb? Come on. Serious question but wrong thread, I know: What's the beef with Romney? Is it the religion thing or something else?” 9:32:12 AM 1/30/08 “Hillary: I want to make it perfectly clear that if I am elected president, it will NOT be a "co-presidency." Bill: That being said, I'd like to say that there are many issues I'd be asking for Hillary's advice and opinion.” 9:38:24 AM 1/30/08 “Well I don't know very much about Mitt Romney, but last night we saw some clips of him hanging out with some black folks...in one of them he said (in the dorkiest voice imaginable), "Who let the dogs out!" And in the other, he said to some little baby, "You've got some bling bling!" Or something like that. LMAO! I couldn't believe my ears.” 9:41:48 AM 1/30/08 “After all that crap about Kerry being a flipflop* I don't see how Social Conservatives could trust Romney. *flimsy beach footwear. ” 9:42:03 AM 1/30/08 “These people who think we aren't going to have the same old politics no matter who gets elected are in for a sad awakening.” 9:42:20 AM 1/30/08 “as for blame.. Iraq is Bush's fault. it's all Bush's fault and only Bush's fault. He is completely responsible for that trash dump of a problem. Only he can be blamed for that.” EarthNsky 11:19:32 AM 1/30/08 Folks, we have a very strong entry in this as the 'Dumbest Statement Ever Made On TT". LOL” 10:07:38 AM 1/30/08 “Not even close... For that, you need to read THIS thread http://www.thebackpacker.com/trailtalk/thread/34054,-1.php last edited: 1/30/08 10:18:49 AM” 10:16:19 AM 1/30/08 “Axis of Idiot member Hyway is downright hilarious. To think, that 95% of black folks vote for Democrats knowing how the Republicans and thier "leave that confederate flag flying" mentality are not racists. Good gawd, these people really can't be for real.” 12:35:26 PM 1/30/08 “ ![]() ![]() ”12:56:37 PM 1/30/08 Jump to Page << prev
