Do does say, the dem party is bankrupt of any ideas and can only identify with the two largest minorities in quest of their votes. If a reason for that vote could be found then more power, but remember, that other (R) party is totally bankrupt of ideas also, but have the ongoing babysitting job in the middle east to distract from the otherwise empty gas tank they have. Everyone knows , but just can't bring themselves to admit we have gone way to far in every direction on everything that concerns us, but retracting from that over achievement is impossible for the over inflated egos that are and will be the down fall of this civilization.

Men are a minority to the female so don't count in the above'a'jumbo.

Be consistent V. If the same thing were said about blacks by a white person everyone would be calling for their head. And yes I catagoriclly deny this fear of blacks you claim and it is anything but typical.

Are you saying that a black person isn't afraid if they see a group of young black men on the street? I don't know the answer to this, but I suspect they should be since the amount of black on black crime is very close to the amount of black on white crime.

we aren't talking about individuals anymore, are we? I thought we were talking in generalities now, "the typical white", etc.

Where I work we go to great links to try to get minority contractors. We send out 100's of solicitations. We have entire units who soul task is to walk minority businesses through the process of getting on our bid lists, assist them in creating their bids. We have "set aside" projects, terms like HUB "historically underutilized businesses", MBE "minority business enterprise", WBE "women business enterprise", DBE "disadvantaged business enterprise". We require successful bidders to hire a certain percentage minority subcontractors.

What the black community needs to do is toss out their idiot religeous leaders whose only care is how many people they have in their flock for business leaders who know how to turn a buck. There is no reason a black man can't be successful in America

soul task- that is funny.

I used to be a foreman at a nuclear plant. After 3 years we had a major cut-back because we were way over budget. They asked me if I wanted a lay-off or to be busted back to a regular worker, so I took the bust back. Then they moved a black girl from day shift to night shift to take my place AND they wanted me to train her! I was pi$$ed!
I went to the upper management and no one would give me a direct answer. They kept passing the buck, sending me from office to office. I finally asked for a transfer to another plant, which they did with-in 2 weeks.
After I left, a few days later I happened to see one of the supervisors at a grocery store. We talked for a while and he told me the whole story. They needed a black foreman and a female foreman and she happened to be both, but they were not allowed to come out and say it that way. I was picked basically by the flip of a coin.

no I do not think that. I think racism is thriving in America, by both blacks and whites. What I think is that the only thing keeping the black man down now is their leadership. A leadership that doesn't create jobs or take advantage of the many opportunities available to better their flock. Their leadership thrives by how much racism they can point out not by how many people they move off welfare.

I said we send out 100 solicitations for every project we advertise, over half are minority firms. Yet, we get back about 2-3 bids. Most of those are white firms.
hyway

That is why I say racism isn't the problem. Its the lack of leadership in entrepreneurship, in business, in the belief in hard work, in carving out your own future. Let the leadership stop seeing racism and start seeing opportunity and you will see a greater change.

what's terrible is the perception that the "black man" is somehow oppressing himself. this is nothing more than an attempt to use 40 years of modern history to wash our hands of a 200 year shameful track record of civil inequality.

YogiSan, I happen to agree with U.S. Supreme Court Justice Clarence Thomas on his opposition to affirmative action, when he told a group of all black lawyers, "Any effort, policy or program that (in some way accepts the notion) that Blacks are inferior is a non-starter with me." "Isn't it time to move on...?"

All of my grandparents came from Poland, and had nothing to do with slavery in the U.S. that ended over a century ago. It is wrong to discriminate against the innocent whites generation of today for the past Democratic Party policies of slavery, session, and segregation, all before my children were born.

So my question to you is, how long should we continue down the road of discrimination against whites that is based upon the notion that Blacks are inferior?

It's trying to stop our worm is the problem and another point mr prosecutor, your ancestors in those magnificiant ships they said way back then brought many slaves here making your polish background as quilty as life on earth. enough said.

Trucker Joe, I never knew that my ancestors centuries ago in Poland sold slaves in America, or that one could be guilty of crimes done by my great, great, great, great, grandparents. Thanks for the enlightenment.

But how does one separate those guilty DNA genes inhereted from white slavers from the genes of the American families who sacrified 500,000 killed fighting the civil war to free 3 million slaves?

the unfortunate reality is that true equality has never existed in america. the notion that the elimination of affirmative action will somehow be a step towards greater equality assumes that we were somehow closer to equality when the civil rights act was passed in 1964.

affirmative action isn't based on the assumption that blacks are inferior. it's based on the reality that for 200 years this country established a socio-political hierarchy that significantly disadvantaged certain minority groups.

yet the reality is that black americans weren't granted equality by the civil rights act nor affirmative action nor any other law of man. they have always been equal. our nation simply chose to deny this fact for over 200 years in the name of profit, power, ignorance, and cruelty. it advanced a socio-political structure that favored whites and was conceived in the notion that "all animals are created equal but some animals are created more equal than others." (G. Orwell, Animal Farm, 1945).

yogisan, I am not disagreeing with what you say, but your solution is to give handouts and not require anything of the black population to get it. Before the 60's black communities had thriving commerce, but inequality under the law. Now they have equality under the law, but no thriving commerce.

Its time to dump the hatred of their religious leaders and let the business leaders give them both equality and commerce.

Religeous leaders need nothong of their followers except that they be loud and angry, business leaders will need their followers to be productive and hard working.
hyway
