I've said all along that we don't need racist preachers, 57 states and the rest of that stuff. All we need to do is get the word out about his disastrus policies. Yes he has plans and policies. I wonder why he never wants to talk about them and all we here is "Change! ChangechangeChangechangeChangechange
I'mnotBush
ChangechangeChangechangeChangechange!"

The short list of why not to vote for Barach Hussein....

1. He has next to no experience.
2. His policies threaten our Constitutional rights.
3. His policies will cost more than Bush's policies.
4. He will raise taxes.
5. Huge government programs.
6. His economic policies will chase even more business from the country with increased taxes.
7. Violin loves him.

at least you acknowledge he has policies and a plan. that's a good start towards a discussion with some real substance. your list of "reasons" would mean a lot more than the vapor they are now if you stopped the name calling and pointed out specifically how his policies and plans (which you acknowledge he has) would have the effects you describe.

his Blueprint for Change has a lot of great ideas that are very different from the status quo that so many americans have decided is the wrong direction for our nation.

positioning these plans as a political platform for change is not only fair and appropriate but it's political genius. he knows what the race is going to look like and is shaping the battle to come such that it will be fought on his terms.

racism is the belief that race explains differences in human character or that race defines a hierarchy of superiority. a racist would be someone whose actions would discriminate or be prejudiced based on race.

since you are making the accusation the burden of proof falls on you. with your out-of-context quote as a starting point prove to me that:

1. Barack believes that differences in human character can be accounted for based on race.

2. That Barack would behave discriminatory or in a prejudicial fashion based on race.

3. That Barack believes that race defines a hierarchy of superiority.

As you prepare to post your argument hold a mirror up to yourself and take a good hard look at how you fit into the standard you are about to define.

Context: "the point I was making was not that my grandmother, uh harbors, uh any racial animosity, she doesn’t. But she is a uh, typical white person who, uh, you know uh if she sees somebody on the street that she doesn’t know, you know, there’s a reaction that’s been bred inta, uh, our experiences that, that don’t go away and that sometimes come out in, in the wrong way and, and that’s just the nature of race in our society."

Not only does he slander his own grandmother, he's clearly saying that white people are by nature ("typical") racist. That tells me clearly that he judges people in terms of skin color.

So burden of proof for what? I let his own words damn him. If McCain had said "typical black person" you, the media, and every other liberal would be (rightly) foaming at the mouth.

Nice try at spinning, Jimmy San. But I'm not the one who uttered a racist remark. Perhaps you should look in your mirror and ask yourself why racist remarks from a presidential candidate doesn't bother you. I'm pretty sure I know why.

another example of the right-wing political terror machine using fear, uncertainty, and doubt rather than substance to attack a candidate.

It's his name isn't it? I like to use it because we're all supposed to be hush hush and politically correct. Crying about attacks on Obama and then turning around and calling me the "right-wing political terror machine". Nice!

OK, here's the list again with explanations.

1. He has next to no experience.
What's he done? A couple years in the Senate. No back ground in administrating over a government body such as a state.

2. His policies threaten our Constitutional rights.

Did Obama not support the banning the sales , possession and manufacture of handguns in the state of Illinois? He has also stated he is in support of the handgun ban in D.C.

3. His policies will cost more than Bush's policies.

The cost of his policies is up to $800 billion.

4. He will raise taxes.

He has said as much in the debates.

5. Huge government programs.

His policies call for the creation of nearly 2,000,000 new government jobs. His healthcare plan will also swell the government.

6. His economic policies will chase even more business from the country with increased taxes.

Obama supports a cap and trade program much like the E.U. has which has caused many companies to leave while at the same time created a money swindling trade in the transfers of credits.

7. Violin loves him.

Everyone knows Violin wants to have Obama's love child. He'll admit it if ya ask him and we all know Violin can't say no to a socialist.

Obama and his ilk seek to take us in the opposite direction that made this country so great and what it is today. We need to go BACK to what made it great. Freedom from the government. Obama and his supporters love to depict the Average American as desperate people standing on the roof with a sign reading "SAVE US!" when the truth is the sign is reading, "LEAVE US THE PHUCK ALONE AND STAY OUT OF OUR WAY!".

McCain's tax policy gives the biggest breaks to those who make more than $2.9 million. I am guessing most of the conservitives here are not in this bracket, however I could be wrong. Most probably fit into the more moderate brackets which if you compare to Obama's proposal, are very simular.

The biggest difference is Obama will tax those who make more instead of giving them a break.

Under Obama the capital gains tax will be about 45%. That ain't screwing fat rich white men. It's screwing us all.

And this is not to defend McCain. To me the republicans are the party of bad ideas and the democrats are the party of no ideas.

I recently heard that 85% of capital gains are held by those in the top 5% of the population.

That would seem like the top 5% are screwing us all.

i don't know why people get so freaked out about the capital gains tax. with the stock market in a spiral because of oil prices and the housing market a mess from the mortgage fiasco you aren't going to have any capital gains to tax.

i am not sure why any of this even matters. they are choosing a running mate for the campaign. they are free to choose anyone they wish through whatever process they wish with a selection committee of anyone they want. the reason you won't hear anything about this, wk, is because mccain's committee has it's own problems to chase down. read the rest of the article...

Responding to Bounds, Obama spokesman Bill Burton said, "We don't need any lectures from a campaign that waited 15 months to purge the lobbyists from their staff, and only did so because they said it was a 'perception problem.'

"It's too bad their campaign is still rife with lobbyist influence and doesn't see a similar 'perception problem' with the man currently running their own vice presidential selection process," Burton said.

Arthur Culvahouse, a member of the Reagan administration, leads McCain's search team. According to The Associated Press, Culvahouse, a partner at international law firm O'Melveny & Myers, in the past has been a lobbyist for Fannie Mae and Lockheed Martin.

i think that is a BIT of an overstatement.

actually i am hard pressed to think of any criticism i have offered about mccain specifically. i would go back into the thread and look but i figure after making this statement you'll do that for me... but even if you DO find something i still think you'll be hard pressed to support your claim that I answer "every criticism of Obama with criticism of McCain".

...that is unless you are claiming that by saying "right-wing terror machine" i am talking about mccain and his campaign. this i never said and any connection between the two is totally in your mind and not mine.
