What people on the left fail to see about Palin is that she has her personal views, but she doesn't necessarily try to make them law.

Show me where Palin has used her office to outlaw abortions. Or show me where Palin has tried to make a law to teach creationism in the schools. Show me a fired librarian.

Don't show me what someone else said she might do, or what she said her own personal feelings are on a subject. Show me concrete proof where she actually pushed her religious values onto an unwilling populous.

She may have considered to ban books or fire a librarian, but she didn't. She could have if she wanted to, she certainly fired 6 of the 8 department heads, one more librarian wouldn't have made a big difference if she seriously wanted to ban books.

She may have said her personal opinion is that creationism should be taught along with evolution, but she never forced the issue on the schools at anytime while she was on the PTA, on the Town Council, as Mayor nor as Governor.

She may have voted against same sex marriages, but she vetoed a bill that would have denied state benefits to the same sex partners of state employees on the grounds that it was unconstitutional.

You folks should get your head out of your anuses and do your homework. This is teh kind of politician you people on the left have been begging for and now that we found one you hate her because she is republican.”

I'm thinking this ABC is gonna be a softballer too. Taking place in Alaska isn't it, where we'll lots of pictures of mountains, salmon, moose, her friends. There will be lots about her kids too - almost certainly very little of any substance - and she'll be surrounded by advisors ready to jump in at the first sight of trouble. People seem to be buying into the idea of her rather than the reality.

They're looking to control the Agenda - and it seems a lot of people are happy to buy into that.

It's interesting seeing the Democratic response to her, (which hasn't been much).

Either they thinking the wave will crest then subside - or that she'll screw things up herself at some point without needing a push. Perhaps that there's plenty of time.

But for the moment they're letting the GOP image-makers do their thing unhindered. Smart or stupid.... I'm not sure.

And all this talk of unfriendly press is crap - they've been remarkably positive about her to this point.

Come on Highway - get real. I want to hear her respond to questions on the important issues. Economy, Foreign Policy, Healthcare. She's all soundbites and GOP fluff at the moment. It doesn't have to be either of those two - maybe answering some real questions from the voters - lets hear her off script a little bit.


And the reality is that she hasn't done much and doesn't have much experience. Combine that with her being sheilded from the mean and nasty press and all there is to go on is that she's from Alaska and a mom. Even what she's claiming as strengths are highly questionable - Pork and breaking up old boys' network.

Sarah Palin (The Mother) is dealing with the media, she is ignoring them and campaigning by speaking directly to people at her campaign stops.
Perhaps it is the function of the media to report the news, not try and make the news.
They seem to have freedom to report on whatever Ms. Palin says and does, so I guess that vital part of the job is being dealt with.
If the Media chooses not to report how America reacts to the McCain/Palin message until there is a 20% shift in a voting segment because of their bias, that is a failure of the media to report the news, not any failure of the candidates to "deal with the media".”
