i'm a fool and missed the entire first half but i did love the etrade commercials

did any body see the one by the sales lead company, i can't remember their name...it featured panda's with an awful asian accent...not trying to turn this fuego but it was a little "iffy" on the old PC meter

thrifty, I thought the same thing, but maybe they were selling to the folks who are losing their jobs to the Asian influx :).

Thrifty you were right I thought the Panda commerical was a tad in bad taste...but then Asians and CaucAsuan Males are a legitimate target I guess....

...and the thing is it might not have been half bad if they got an ACTUAL asian to do the voice but it was a mickey rooney-esch horrible parody

the whole commercial was a slap in the face of PCism which is why I believe their target was disenfranchised white workers who won't work as hard or as dedicated as the asians that are taking their jobs. A niche market, as it were.

I thought the Audi commercial with a guy waking up with a grill of a car in the bed was priceless.

I guess it was pretty much lost, however, on those unfamiliar with the Godfather.

Agreed Chili....Bill Frist....hopefully he will be a better doctor than he was a politician.

Most of you may not know but I am as disenchanted with the direction of BOTH parties. I would just like to see someone who will SET a Direction. Not the "Change Change Change" chant of Obama (after all what is CHANGE without knowing what direction? I mean Change may be we will be suffering attacks at home and a depression.

What I look for is someone who will look at the Constitution, get Big Government out of our daily lives and start allowing common citizens to SOLVE the problems.

I have yet to hear ONE of the national Politicians even MENTION the most incredible rescource this nation has, ITS CITIZENS.

I was in Charleston during and after Hugo, I watched a state that was hit as hard as any recover with 3 countem 3 FEMA agents in the whole state. How did stuff get done? People came from all over and just helped. Heck I put a few hundred hours in working on random houses of people who did NOT have insurance or who had really taken a beating.

I may disagree politically with a person I may not like them, but I was taught if they were truly hurting and trying to get out of it You help them as best you can.

Now the leeches (Ref Specifically the Katrina Fleas from N.O. that are still living with their hand out) nah you can tell who they are. But I am talking an 80 year old woman with a house that lost a chunk of its roof. She could not afford the incredible price of replacing the roof...but you know what? She did spend every day making sure we had sandwiches and tea.

I couldn't hear any of them, the volumne at Plumies was turned down too low and too many folks talking, but the kid slapping the guy had some merit. Wish I could of heard the Bud commercial with the longhorn in it, all grown up.

I don't tune in for the commercials but the good ones are a bonus.

About the only one I liked this year was the ad for The David Letterman Show in which he and Jay Leno were at Oprah's Super Bowl "party."

My favorite is the doritos one, with the kid slapping hid mom's date. It's available online.

The bighorn/ Clydesdale one was cute, but definitely could have been much better. I think it was thrown in because of all the stink of them not doing Clydesdale commercials anymore. If anything, it made me want to go out for some beef brisket barbeque.

I had to rewind the Dave/Jay leno one three times.
1. to see if was a photoshop
2. to see if it was an actor in damn good makeup
3. to see why the hell jay was on CBS

I thought the Green Police commercial was funny, but I doubt that it was very effective. They were selling the "most green car on the planet" but they were mocking the Green movement. Seems to me you shouldn't mock your customer target.
