A Michigan man convicted of murdering and dismembering his wife sent flirtatious letters to an inmate convicted of stabbing her daughters to death, including one note that suggested an encounter in the county jail's broom closet, the Detroit News reports.

Stephen Grant, convicted last year for the second-degree murder of his wife, Tara, sent more than a dozen letters to Jennifer Kukla, a fellow inmate at the Macomb County Jail, a lawyer representing Tara Grant's estate told the Detroit News.

"In one of the letters, Grant tells Kukla he wants to get her in a broom closet," attorney Patrick Simasko told the paper. "In the letters, there are lots of smiley faces, winks and 'LOLs' (laughing out loud)."

Kukla is serving a life sentence for using a kitchen knife to kill her two children, the family's three dogs and a pet mouse inside their trailer home on Feb. 4, 2007, five days before Tara Grant's death, the paper reports. Kukla told police that voices in her head told her to kill her daughters — Alexandra, 8, and Ashley, 5 — and instructed her after the act to wait for a hearse made of bones to take her to hell.

Stephen Grant, who will be sentenced on his murder charge on Feb. 21, also wrote letters to other female inmates in jail, the paper said.

Thanks for that very important information, it will really greatly improve my thoughts as I hike, and sleep in the woods.
