“I just read how the missing skiers out west were found alive because they built a snow shelter (which they saw on a Discovery show). I went looking and found they have an extensive list of survival guides online. The first set of guides under "Technolithic..." don't really apply to backpackers but many of the others are, including "Plants and Animals" and "Survival By Environment".

Read up now, or forever hold your peace...
