I get a pimple on my nose drinking from Nalgenes

Anybody else get that?

It's from the sharp mouth of the bottle touching the tip of the nose.

They need a redesign.

No breast development yet though.

Use a straw

That's not a bad suggestion treebait, but I hate using straws. The time to quantity consumed ratio is reduced too much for my piggish needs. Thanks though. I'm sure somebody else can try that.

Use the small mouth Nalgene.

Or put a sippy cup lid on it? ;)

Or maybe one of these lids:

Ok, then use a section of 1 inch PVC pipe.
You can consume massive quantities while developing a shapely rack.

Just put a ring of Clearasil around the mouth of your Nalegene.

I think lilmountaingirl has it.

We (my wife and I) rotate through the various bottles, and have each of those - but she usually gets that kind. I'll have to hit the bike shop and buy some more.

roseymonster - I did use Benzoyl Peroxide (active ingredient of Clearasil) this morning and yesterday directly on my nose, but no such luck. Swallowing a little Benzoyl Peroxide ingested won't kill ya.

Just drink from the opposite side---the one that usually touches your nose.

nalgene makes a narrow-mounth bottles that won't give you a nose boo-boo.

i find polycarbonate/HDPE nalgenes to be heavy and expensive... more of a high-school fashion statement than a piece of backcountry gear.

i have been using the wide-mouth nalgene cantene water bottle (collapsable) for a while now. they have many of the advantages of hard walled nalgene bottles but at a fraction of the weight. that plus they can be collapsed.

i used to use pop bottles (1 l) but since i switched from aquamira to the steripen i had to give this up. the wand of the steripen doesn't fit in the mouth of a pop bottle.

j-son
do you store that in the "net wings" of your pack, if so - how is it getting it in there?

Maybe you have skin cancer.

It's much more likely you have breast cancer though.

Yes, when I use the nalgene bottle. Otherwise, no.

yeah, i put it in the side-pocket(s). i find the collapsible bottle to be easier to get in the pocket than the pop bottles (hard walled container).

You gotta have the wide mouth so it will screw onto the bottom of your MSR water filter.

BLAM!

LOL, the breasts are good! They remind me of Wonder Woman's boobs...you know, full and pointy. At least they used to be. Now I have to tuck them into my socks to prevent rug burn. But thanks for asking!

Do they wobble to and fro
Can you tuck them in your socks?
Can you tie them in a bow?
Can you throw them over ur shoulder,
Like a continental soldier?
Do your boooooobs, haaaaaaang, looooooow...

Why thank you ductape! I tried to go back and edit out that sentence, but I was too late. Ya'll may as well know the truth anyway.

Now that I have hijacked Sarge's zit thread, I suppose we should get back to his problemo.

LOL @ Rosey. Now I've got that song in my head. Thanks a bunch!

To be clear, (especially for XL), it really looks more like a freckle to the untrained eye.

i have the msr miniworks which, yes, i bought because it screwed to the wide-mouth bottles and bladders that i had. in the end, however, it was a miserable water filter constantly getting clogged and was heavier than almost every other option out there. i still use the wide-mouth bottles but for the steripen not for the fit to the msr water filter.

i laugh every time i see a hiker pumping away on their miniworks/waterworks filter and hear it going "squeak, squeak, squeak" meaning it's clogged and the pressure valve is taking the water the user just pumped in and pumping it back OUT the same input line it just came from. you can see the end of the input hose in the water going forward (as it draws water in) and then back (as it squirts the same water out). terrible setup and for me the plus of it hooking to wide-mouth jars is far outweighed by the poor performance of this product.

Plus it has a pivot point in the pump handle -- destined to fail.

DON"T SQUEEZE THE PIMPLE!
You'll abort the fetus!

seriously, some people have allergic reactions to plastics, others have contact dermatitis issues (prolly the later).

I had issues with a new set of glasses a while back...changed the nosepads to a different material and it went away.

I don't get the nose pimples but really don't like the widemouth Nalgenes 1. because they do touch the nose while drinking 2. the lid always flaps around and pops me in the face. The narrow neck Nalgene took care of both issues for me.

and ya may wanna check into the Ortho Pill. One of 'em is supposed to help with pimples..plus you won't get pregnant!! Two fer one deal!
