I guess I would have thought that you would lose a lot of the effectiveness of a wind screen by having to keep it so far away from the pot/stove?”

I ran into him in Vermont during my 2006 thru-hike. I couldn't tell exactly what he had that was made of tyvek. It looked like his pack was tyvek, he had a HUGE tyvek roll hanging on his pack. I guess I was more focused on his bare feet. YEP, he was hiking the whole AT barefooted.”

“Last week I posted something on one of the many tyvek threads but would like a real opinion from someoneabout this:
Wouls tyvek with a space blanket cut to match and glued to one side take care of the moisture issue and still provide the puncture resistance, and possibly give you a tad bit more insulation from a frozen ground? Has anyone tried a combination of the two?”
