“The first night of that trip was classic. We stayed in the campground and had a good fire going. I brought a case of homebrew. As people came up to the fire everyone kept introducing me as sarge and ewker just walked up and said, "Hi Sarge!"

Of course it was a doomed theory from the start because during the weekend while we were out hiking sarge pulled some stunt on TT proving he was a different person. It was fun for a day anyway.

That was the first hike I bonked on in a long time. I slept like a rock that night. I took a wrong turn heading into camp and added an extra 3 miles to my day... Last into camp.”

“jim actually got to camp later then i did!!!”

“bonked on? becareful... different regions have different meanings for Bonking. all variations of the "bonk" make one sleep like a rock.

“I must have missed all the name calling, I think I was last into camp on Friday as I did the 5 hour drive after work at either 7pm or 5pm, can't remember what I worked then. But I remember everyone calling you Sarge in the morning. That was the hike that had three different options, I remember I did the 15 mile hike and slept well, through the tornado, and then had a nice breakfast with Birch, Sass and a couple others at a lil ma and pa.”

“well i bonked as in ran out of energy and had to stop and eat a bag of gummy bears or whatever.

to this day when i hike to that camp site i still stand and look at the sign and wonder how i decided to road hike rather than take that trail into camp.”
