Who here was so out of touch, that they thought so many people were dissatisfied with Bush that Kerry was a shoe in?

Come on, ... admit it! (Here come the excuses ...)

LOL!

I didn't - I thought Edwards was by far the better candidate - I said so at the time. You seem to be able to use the search function Sargey - go have a look.

“Who here thought Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice Powell, Wolfowitz et al were telling the truth about the invasion of Iraq?”

Me. But then again we can not simply disregard the overwhelming support that was given for going in. But at the same time we can't disregard that we were flat out WRONG either. We phucked up. Then we further exacerbated the situation by running the war according to polls and public opinion. Now, through self fulfilling prophecy, found ourselves in a war we are not fighting to win but to simply not lose. Had we gone in with overwhelming force, destroyed Iraq and won we would have saved countless lives by not prolonging it.

We weren't wrong. Saddam had an active WMD program.

We didn't phuck up. We are gaining incredible amounts of intel that we otherwise wouldn't have. We have not been successfully attacked since the ousting of Saddam the evil dictator.

If that's phucking up, then phucking up is a good thing.

And, just what have we achieved by occupying this burned out had been civilization? As I said here last night, winning in Iraq is when the president stands before the people of the US and tells them we are not leaving and never had any intention of leaving. Reset your mind to think occupation and forget using the word war- that landed on that flat top off Cal. when Scrub claimed victory(rightfully).

"Former" alcoholics, especially those who have grasped onto fundamentalism like drowning men, can be the worst people.

"Had we gone in with overwhelming force, destroyed Iraq and won we would have saved countless lives by not prolonging it."

I suppose instead of slaughtering hundreds of thousands of civilians it somehow would have been better to kill millions?

That really is a primitive form of warfare...................kill everybody and everything and simply take.
That's downright biblical.

Great! How does it feel to not think for yourself? (Of course, coming up with an answer to that particular question could result in a small warm in time/space.)
