I don't like the kind that have writing or pictures on them with lots of ink.

i have a collection of Bandanas. I like them all and my favorite is Hustler Divas 1980. It's kind worn out and faded so I have retired it.

i have a few of the classic "paisley" ones (red, white, and ironically blue) that i use as pot holders, hankies (booger vaults), etc. very handy but once they get wet they basically stay wet... the old cotton thing. i sort of wish i could get one that had the feel of cotton but dried like coolmax/nylon. would not be as absorbent i know... but my wife has a towel she uses to dry her hair and takes up a LOT of water and dries very quickly. i wonder what that thing is... but she would be PISSED if i cut a chunk out of it for testing.

I've got loads of them. They are all basic blue or red in some variation of the traditional paisley pattern. My favorite is one from god knows when that my mom gave me. The corners are frayed, and it's gettin pretty thin so I dont wear it much anymore, but it does get compliments on the rare occasion that I break it out.

Funny, but I don't even feel right with out my do rag when hiking. I gotta have one on.

LOL! Yogi, I have a couple old duofold t-shirts that I was thinking about making into bandannas just the other day. It feels like cotton, but dries much quicker. Maybe I'll give it a try and let you all know.

of the three i have (red, white, blue) the white one was found on the side of the road while road-hiking out from the quehanna trail on one of wounded knee's prior hikes. good memories but i don't know what promted me to pick that thing up and salvage it. kind of gross actually. it was tied like a piece of headwear so i was betting it flew off a bikers head or something... no nosegoblins could be seen... is swear!

For regular towel duties, those packtowels kick ass.   I usually squirrel away a couple of paper towels in case I run into something really nasty.

pack towels... i have one of those. that is the same thing as what my wife has to dry her hair... i just checked... "microfiber towel". i wonder what it really was before they renamed it to charge 10x what it's worth. someone told me that they sell chamois towels at the dollar store that work well in place of the expensive "pack towels" (like the one marketing science research makes).

Me and my friends wore bandanas to school for peace and got suspended, what garbage. Best thing is, my Principals name is Mr. Weinker. (Yes, its pronounced exactly what your thinking)

Haven't worn a bandana for like 20 years; the lack of a brim makes them impractical as a head covering.

Wears a brimmed cap. --------------------->

Bandanas are for wanna-be pirates. Personally, I wear panty hose on my head. Just call me G-funk.

I wear a brim hat also but I still use a bandana for a sweat band across the forehead - one of the disadvantages of being bald - no hair to suck up the sweat and without the bandana it drips into my eyes or on my glasses

I like my buffs - I have two with tribal patterns. I have a few solid blue bandanas and one red, one green. They rarely leave home. Pack towel I love and have cut a medium one into several small ones with a cut out in the corner for slipping a caribiner through. Great wash cloth!
