Reason I ask is there are a slew of choices. I stayed with side by side just for the freezer space...(wonder if they will ever make one with a DEHYDRATOR in a section...then you can cut up the food, stack it in there and turn it on!)”

“Keep in mind there is a difference between freezer space, and freezer access. It's a common misconception that side-by-sides provide more space. Apple for apples, they do not. Yes, you can buy a bigger s.b.s. than a top/bottom, but at a higher cost.

Most side-by-sides in similar price and total dimension range actually have less storage space in both the refrigerator and the freezer section. The reason is the divider takes up more total real-estate, and the shelving is less efficient.

I was on the far end away from the heater and actually used my sleeping bag.
