“If there's anything you wanted to say to Mr. Hyde but hadn't gotten around to it, now would be the time!

He doesn't have some kind of weird disease or anything, but he's just really, really, old. At this point, it does not look like he will make it to his 104th birthday, which comes along in about 5 or 6 weeks from now. He's down to a scrawny 5 or 6 pounds, about a third of his max weight. Pretty normal, if you think about it, for his age. He's getting pretty senile, though - he gets near his litter box (sometimes half in it), then pees on the floor. He's been checked for infections, organ failure, etc., and it's not that - it's just old age. We'll all be doing that kind of thing someday, too.

No pity needed. Pithy is OK. Cat criticism OK, too - he can take it (what the heck, he's been deaf for about 3 or 4 years anyway....).

I would read what you tell him to him, but, as noted above, he wouldn't hear me anyway. I don't know if he can read or not but I'll put the comments in front of him. He'll probably just pee on them.
