“Remember me? I spoke to you on your through hike a couple years ago. You said you were getting burnt out and thought about quitting.
Did you finish your through hike?”

“I've been burned out since the 60's.

I don't remember where I was when we spoke. I bummed out somewhere in Massachusetts, but returned to the trail after about a week lay off in Virginia.

I got what I believe to be some sort of food poisoning at White House Landing in the 100 mile wilderness and struggled on to about the last 5 or so miles. I went in to Millinocket to see a doc. They found nothing other than my symptoms. The weather headed south (mid_October) and I never made the final climb.”
