I broke one of my lekis at BSP a couple weeks back. Here is what I sent them in a message:

I broke my Leki Canyon antishock hiking pole. The grip at the bottom of the second section was loose, and when I pulled it out to the stop Max line, it was out too far. I didn't pay close enough attention, I knew the grip was loose. Anyways, I pushed hard on my pole to unlock my cross country skiis and I bent the pole. Being 3 miles from the cabin in Baxter State Park in winter, I figured I would try to straighten it back out. At that point, the threaded bolt that expands the plastic lock snapped. This is the top of the bottom section, and the middle section has the expander locked in place. Is this something that you can fix? Or am I better off buying a new pole? (What will it cost to repair?)

Their reply:

Robert,

I will send out a new set of sections to you.

Thank you,

Melanie * *******

Well, how about that? I thanked them profusely in a response.

I had a similar experience with them in December. I lost the bottom section of one of the poles. I inquired about a replacement and they shipped two at no charge.

Customer service like that is hard to come by these days.

I had a similar experience w/ Leki a few years ago. I had a carbon fiber/aluminum alpine ski pole that snapped right where the aluminum met the carbon fiber. They shipped me a new pair even before I shipped the broken pair so they could inspect what went wrong. That's great customer service!

Stop me if you heard it.
Johnnywalker got Lekies and gave his Gabel's to me.

The expansion button stripped (my fault - I kept them tightened and the tube contracted from going to the warm house to the cold trunk of my car) and I 'phoned Gabel after finding them on Google.

They informed me that their distribution centre had just moved to Montreal and they couldn't find anything. I said I'd call them back in a week. I did this twice and the girl said that this delay was 'beyond their window of customer service' and asked for my address. I gave her my school address as they can accept parcels while it's a pain to get a notice in my mail box and take time off (the post office is closed at noon) to drive back from school and about 10 km further than my place to the village that gets my mail. This happened round ten in the morning.

Next morning during first period the secretary calls and says there's something at the office for me.

It was a brand new set of poles shipped the previous evening by courrier from the factory to the aeroport in Milan, then to Laguardia, then to PET aeroport in Montreal and then by courrier to my school. I kept the box with the transport stickers for a couple of years.

I have had a lot of great service - Orvis, LL Bean, Campmor, MEC, but that ones stands out as the most spectacular.
