Bowlders Headed to Michigan!

“August. Family vacation (to visit family). A week or two. Coupla days at Mackinac Island. Could probably hook up w/MI TTers - could share pics of our JMT trip. Will miss MSU vs. Cal football game to be played less than 10 miles from our home here - doh! More details as they develop....

“BTW, before you head to Mackinac Island, read "Voyaguers" by Margret Elphinstone. It's an amazing book about the importance of the island historically. Very good read. I'd send you my copy but my little brother has it in KS right now.

“We're looking at the last couple weeks of August - B-Son and I will be on Mt. Whitney on the 9th (his 13th birthday)! So no AATK for us....

“OK, plans are finalized. I'm going a few days later than B-Gal and B-Son. I will arrive at DTW on 8/21 late afternoon. We leave the north-o-Detroit area (just off of Woodward) on 8/26. One night in Petoskey, then 2 nights on Macinac Island, then back to Base on the 29th. Hangin' around there for a day on the 30th, then flying home on the 31st.

Already been in touch with tarabull - I will email some of you others sometime in the next month - it would be cool to get together for a coffee or a beer. B-Son and I are hitting the JMT in a couple weeks for 16 days, so if you don't hear anything from me during that time, that's why!!”
