Good Morning!!!!
...thank you so much for prayers & good thoughts....Lee's dad was soooo sick Saturday....like I said, they called in a few more drs...one was for the infection...he started treating him with an antifungal or anti yeast....and a diabetic dr...who realised when the gave him the nutrition stuff, that he needed insulin with it ( duh) ( his sugar was 475 )...
...we went to hospital yesterday, and he is smiling & joking and feeling so much better...they even had him up walking the halls!!!!!!..Drs will be in today for updates....weekends sure can be long when waiting on a DR....
...we went fishing yesterday...I am burned to a crisp...caught a bass & 2 mini brim...

...I hope everyone has a GREAT day!!!!!

Hey Divinity, I'm glad to hear that things are going better for Lee's dad. Things are in a whirlwind with us again. Trevor was supposed to be home Friday but he started feeling a little strange. It was decided that it would be best for them to stay in Memphis for the weekend. Yesterday he started running fever, loose bowels and puking. He is in the hospital now getting fluids and antibiotics. I last talked to my wife last night at 11PM he was feeling better at that time. Hopefully this will be over quick. There is some scary stuff out there right now. Swine Flu is now confirmed in 5 states and I'm sure that number will grow. There have been no cases in Tennessee so far. Watch out for yourselves.

Hi there. I've been away far too long... Need to get out and get moving again...

The past few weeks have been terribly stressful. I lost a high school counselor/friend who passed away when her recurrance of cancer went to her brain... My 3 best friends have had traumas in their lives-- 1 friend's grandma passed away, 1 friend's father has gone from pancreatic to stomach cancer, another lost a friend to a suicide and a friend at 43 had a stroke last week. To say that I'm stressed is putting it lightly. Friday, i have a funeral & Saturday, the internment followed by a wedding in the evening. The last 4 pieces of news, I learned since this past Sunday....

... at the moment, I can't even think straight.... but I could use some prayers for my friends....

My friend who had the stroke is 43-- she had just done a triathlon not even 2 weeks before she had the stroke. She's a sky-diver, pilot, biker, the whole gamut--always active and this is just devastating to me to know that she's been paralyzed (at the moment) on 1 side by the stroke....

It's been far too long... I am hoping to get out and get hiking a little this summer with my hubby, Thinkbubelz-- I'm also encouraging one of my friends to check out Trail Talk-- She lives out in Southern Cal, so if there are any short day hikes--down that way, please let me know--I'm encouraging her to check out TT and some of the hikes... (She's a newbie to backpacking, but has been car-camping before.)

Pink and others whenever the opportunity presents itself share love. Life is just one obstacle after another. It's a lot easier to climb over them with a helping hand than it is when those hands are throwing stones. Keep up hope for a better tomorrow.

"Today we start our day at 7:30. Not sure what time we will get out. It will be a very big day. Today is the Bone marrow aspirate. This the true test of whether Trevor is cancer free or not. We are going knowing and believing that Trevor is 100% CANCER FREE! Please join us in believing and praying that all is well in Trevor's body. Not sure what else he has today. Nothing else is as important.

We got all of the test results from yesterday back today. Most were good. His heart is great. No cavities in his teeth. Bone age had a decrease. The bone density was worse than expected. Trevor will not be doing any skiing, biking, or anything else that will put him a risk for beaking a bone. His bones are very brittle. We will talk to the specialist tomorrow about what mediciations they will start him on for this. It will be a slow process to get his bones back strong. It could take a couple of years. They will watch him closely for a while.
Trevor was treated to Dr. Sara doing his BMA today. He had a little surprise for she and all of the people in the procedure room.
He had Monica write right above the aspirate location "Geaux Tigers" Then she wrote on one hip "0 Cancer here" and the other "100% Donor cell" and "Hello Doc" !!! We will post those pics later.
Trevor did visit the eye doctor today. He will need glasses for distance. We will get those soon.
Dr. Sara should call tonight with some preliminary results. I am anxious for those. Will update later.

Prayers & hugs

Day 376

We did hear from Sara last night on the spinal fluid test. He has 0 cancer in his spinal fluids! I am glad to hear but not really as concerned about that one because he only had a very small amount when he was diagnosed. She said it would be today before we hear anything even preliminary on the bone marrow aspirate. That is the one that makes all cancer Mom's nervous. Pin and needles, but faith in God that all will be well there too. This is where the patience thing comes into play and you all have been on this long journey long enough with to know how I am.

I am very much looking forward to seeing friend of mine from almost 20 years ago. Geri Tomes. Trevor wanted to know how he would know them..... I thought and thought, then I told him, remember the kid who was talking in our wedding video? That is his Mom!
We hope to hear some more good news today and will pass it along as we get it!

ANybody here have experience with Funerals. For some reason the widow and her friends have asked me to help negotiate the funeral stuff.....

It is undoubtedly the worst experience I have ever encountered.

I had to make arrangements for both my father and a good friend who committed suicide.

Going in there and looking at caskets was like being led around by a car salesman on prozac.

There isn't much negotiation. You tell them what you can spend, and they take you to the corner of the "showroom" that is in your range.

A very dear friend of mine named Angel,s father was recently diagnosed with cancer. It has advanced more rapidly than anyone expected and the man has been given but a very short time. You may have had a chance to meet her as she worked front line at the REI here in College park , Maryland. Angel is one of the sweetest people I've ever met and I pray for peace for her and her family in this very difficult time they are going through.
