You know it's the wives I feel sorry for in all this.

Not only has she got to deal with finding out - but she's asked to go out there in front of the world and 'stand by her man'. Hopefully she'll take him to the cleaners - he deserves it.

THere is a special place in hell for those who are so self-righteous and sanctimonious then get taken out by their own hypocracy.

He made his career holding corporations and individuals to the higheest of standards . ..

I bet Hank Greenberg is throwing a HUGE party today. As is his son Evan (AIG and Marsh McClennan respectively)

I know you are just having fun at liberal expense. I certainly can't blame you. YOU both are so far up the a$$ of the conservative party, and have been F-ed time and time again. Given that long long long and dissappointing track record displayed by the Florida Congressman, the Idaho Senator, the colorado church leader . . . this must be wonderful and joyful news for you.

For me . .they are all cut from the same cloth. Liberal, conservative . .doesn't matter.

The more sanctimonious, the more self-righteous . . .the more sure that they are right and everyone else is wrong . .. .the more surely they will fall into disgrace.

No message there. None at all.

The only thing I know much about in terms of his work was his investigations of some practices of pharmaceutical companies. It was very good stuff. I've kind of respected him for that without knowing much else about him. Of course you don't have to be a good person to produce good work when the spotlight is on you.

From the news sources I read, he seemed pretty effective as a prosecutor. Of course, he was involved in shutting down some prostitution rings.

I'm hoping his "dates" with expensive prostitutes is all there is to it. I'm just wondering if he cooperated with this ring, to bring down some of the rings he investigated and prosecuted. Not too long ago some former NYC detectives were doing just that. They helped crush the competition for one whore house and got freebies, cash and the appearance of doing great police work in return.

I'll be watching. Was this a basically decent guy who started to self destruct? Or was this a hard driven self seeking guy whose good work was all about establishing a reputation and a cover?

Why do the wives stand beside these bums? Maybe it is the, "World against us," attitude?

At least Spitzer had the decency to hire a professional in a private location. Craig is the worst kind of deviant. A public toilet is no place for soliciting sex.

Some of us were chatting this morning . .. one had seen McGreavy's wife on Larry King (your home state).

She indicated that she stuck by because of the kids. That she did not want her kids seeing her throw their Dad (for better or worse) under the bus. She bided her time, then got out.

WSJ editorial is right on the money today.

don't try so hard to be stupid.

My problem is not with elected officials or church officials. It is not with liberals or with conservatives.

It is with individuals, or organizations, that set themselves up on a pedastal as the arbiters of what is right and wrong, moralize and speechify and tell the rest of us how we should live our lives, prosecute and persecute those with whom they disagree, or who don't fit into their vision of moral probity . . .and then . .lo and behold . . .are big freakin hypocrits.

Because it is often the religious right who stakes out this moral high ground . . . they often have the farthest to fall. And my contempt is often therefore focused on them.

But I hold in no less contempt a "liberal" or democrat who is guilty of the same hypocracy.

Here is the part that you might have a problem with.

I have absolutely no beef with Clinton and the oval office BJ. Or the lie to cover it up.

Why?

Because everyone knew he was a cheating dog. That certainly doesn't make it right . . . .but at least he wasn't moralizing from the pulpit, or from the oval office and pretending to be something he wasn't. he f-ed around while he was gov., while he was campaigning and after he was elected.

It is the self-righteous and sanctimonious that cause me anger.

then you get all sanctimonius over some comment Trent Lott made at a PRIVATE party??WTF????? Thats the problem a Republican makes a gaff and you hammer it home. A democrat kills someone, violates his oath of office (See LEE lying to prevent another citizen from getting a fair trial is a crime you incredible #&%!$ FACE). ITS CALLED PERJURY....you are so blitheringly stupid you cannot see that becuase you LIKED that type of crap. Hell he is no different than a ROCK STAR to you. Well cowboy, don't know if you have ever experienced a government official abusing their power like Paula Jones et al did, but it is frightening. But as long as it doesn't interfere with your little "lee world" its okay....

Someone makes a mistake and they are GONE from the Republican Party...hell you dems will reelect Killers and Rapists...NO BIGGIE..

Thats like saying they should let Hilton out of jail because he just had a failed relationship. (LOL) Yeah just stay with the Moral Relativisim...seems to work for you

RE: Newt . .. actually. Everyone knew he had cheated on his wife while she was undergoing cancer treatments.

Bob (?) Livingstone, one of the republicans who was supposed to be on the the house managers of the impeachment trial resigned when it was revealed that he was cheating on his wife.

YOu can get all red in the face and hyperventilate about Clinton. And Kennedy. heck, since WWII history is your specialty why don't you dredge up Eisenhower's mistress while he was in Europe, or Roosevelt's affairs (ooooohh a favorite republican target, red meat for those over . ..say . ..age 80).

if that is what gets you off . .. go for it.
