I am not a person that can go either hiking or kayaking before work. I have always wanted to, but i just do not have the time in the morning. But I found a nice river near where I work and I want very much to try it before work. So who hikes or kayaks or just gets out in the morning before work.

any good secrets to not going into work smelly after a workout?

ok let the jokes fly!!

Well, I don't hike or kayak before work, but I run before work and my "secret" is to shower afterwards.

Cats out of the bag ...

I also put about 2 miles of hiking in during the workday on a nature trail, but it's purposefully slow going so as not to work up a big sweat.

I can help you with the smelly part.

Back in the 70's, while stationed in Oklahoma, I would run 5-7 during my lunch period. There was no shower. I discovered that it takes a lot more than a few hours for bacteria to build up to the point of creating an offensive body odor. The problem for me was not being able to cool off adequately and I'd just sweat through the afternoon. But, I would not stink.

I'm guessing that a little kayak trip or a brisk walk isn't going to get you any funkier than you already are.

Nimblefoot - girls stink worse than guys when they sweat. Especially "down there". haha - just kidding. (no, not really kidding, it's true)

I look forward to being able to do this before work. it will set the mood for the day (at least I hope so)

For some fortunate folks that may be true. For others it decidedly is not. YMMV

Maybe some powder? Or some lever wipes?

There's a difference between thinkin' you're stinkin' and other people knowing your are. When the pits start to get stuck together, we get a little paranoid and start thinking the funkometer is on the rise. It's not necessarily so. On the other hand, if your co-workers start telling you or throw you a GI shower or blanket party, then you may actually stink.

Note: Refrigerator saying someone stinks doesn't necessarily make it so. Happens to be true in my case, but not in most others.

Diet makes a hell of a difference in body funk.

Even my sweat smells clean........

Was that Springsteen?

Maple. get ahold of "The Book of Running" by Jim Fix. He addresses your concernsto a degree you may find helpful.

Make sure you're eating enough carbs to ward off the stench.

to clean up on backpacks after a hot sweaty day i use antibacterial wipes and liberal mount of hand sanitizer, then apply a lot of antiperspireant/deoderant.
