Cohos in '08 “I'm thinking of trying the Cohos trail as my long backpack of '08 (alternate thoughts are the LT again, 100 mile wilderness again, or part of the IAT). Anyone thinking about it? Anyone intereseted in coordating plans and cars, either hiking together or in opposite directions?” 2:15:15 PM 3/16/08 “Anybody want to head to the Canadian Border of New Hampshire and start off heading south on the Cohos trail? If you are intersted in doing any or all of it, or finishing it and wandering over to Vermont or Maine, please let me know. Last year I didn't get to do a substantial backpacking trip (just some weekend things) bringing my record to 6 of 10 years doing a trip of 100 miles or longer (shortest were the 100 mile wilderness and Northville Placid, longest were two Long Trail thru-hikes). I've got to get that average up! So, now I'm planning to do the Cohos trail, starting at the Canadian border, and with whatever time I have left, heading through the Pemigawasset wilderness (Nancy Pond Trail and Osseo) to Franconia Ridge and the AT and then Maine Junction. If I make it to Maine Junction with time to spare, I'll probably head North on the LT (or maybe south as there is a peak I'd like to bushwhack to).” 2:02:42 PM 3/16/09 “Just realized I posted this exactly one year after I started the thread. And, by replying to myself, I break my own record for replies generated on this thread.” 2:04:06 PM 3/16/09 “So - I'm planning on heading to the Canadian border on July 21st or thereabouts. Anyone want to split the cost of a shuttle and head out with me.?” 6:35:56 PM 6/16/09
