Just a little tidbit for ya....
Easter this year is: Sunday March 23, 2008 and that makes it special!

As you may know, Easter is always the 1st Sunday after the 1st full moon after the Spring Equinox which is March 20.

This dating of Easter is based on the lunar calendar that Hebrew people used to identify Passover. This is why the date of Easter moves around on our Roman calendar.

Based on the above, Easter can actually be one day earlier (March 22) but that is very rare.

Only the most elderly of our population(95 years old and above) have ever seen Easter this early before. The last time it was this early was 1913.

For the most of us, this year will be the earliest that we will ever see Easter, and none of us will ever see Easter a day earlier!

The next time Easter will be this early (March 23) will be the year 2228 (that's 220 years from now).

The next time Easter will be a day earlier March 22, will be in the year
2285 (that's 277 years from now). The last time Easter was on March 22 was 1818. So no one alive today has seen or will ever see Easter any earlier than this year!

The Hebrew calender is actually based on the lunar and the solar which keeps Pesach in the spring where it belongs.

Thrifty..

Buy the organic brown shell ones. They are easier to find and you don't have to paint them. Although don't hide them close to where a dog has been. You don't want the children making a mistake.

WARNING...DO NOT READ
Easter has always been special to me, since the night years ago I was working in a hotel at the front Desk and Jesus himself appeared.

Yep, he walked in slapped three nails on the counter and asked, "Can you put me up for the night?"

cool! I didn't know this stuff...

it's not unusual for us to have our egg hunt on snow...but I use plastic colored eggs and put surprises in them. I put them out the night before, so they have been snowed on...one thing is to put them in bootholes, then the kids don't find them as quickly. And the dogs have eaten some of the eggs with candy in them...

This year I'm putting out carrots along with some eggs. I'm not big on the candy, and it's hard to find little things that fit in the eggs that isn't just junk, or the same stuff they got the year before. We have some bigger eggs, but they are never big enough. So I'm going to get a piece of orange plastic tablecloth, and wrap the stuff like a carrot and use pipe cleaners or something for the green...I think the kids will be surprised...:)

out of 40,000 or so plastic eggs tested, 12000 contained high levels of lead. (and that was before putting anything in them like little plastic toys ;))

That figures doesn't it. I found out that 19 people have died from contaminated herparin drug made in China. Whatever they put in it is so close to the real thing the FDA had a hard time finding out what it was. They put heparin in my port each week to flush it out and it comes from the same company that had the contaminated drug. They make 90% of the heparin sold in the U.S.
I have some plastic eggs from 10 years ago. Maybe they weren't made in China.

...or little pellets of lead

my wife's uncle holds the family easter egg hunt every year, and then cusses every time he mows his yard for the next two months as he hits unfound eggs with his mower LOL

The compound found in the ersatz heparin is oversulfated condroitin sulfate. It is in the same family of drugs as heparin, and difficult to differentiate test-wise.

Actually MarkO was around for Easter the last time it came on the 22nd. He doesn't like to brag about it, but he was.
