“Looks like you guys have really been running amok lately while I've been gone! Well I haven't really been gone, I've been reading TT a little bit, but generally I have about a 5 min. per day to be on the computer, and I'm not good at typing w/one hand yet (the critter is generally in the other hand).

We don't mind changing diapers, we have some pretty awesome cloth ones. And we're trying Elimination Communication too...getting the pees & poops before they go into the diaper in the first place. I've "caught" 2 poops in the past 2 days! Granted, half of one went on me, but that's life...LOL. We've each caught several pees as well, fun times. I think it'll be easier when he can support his head more. He's already really strong for a little baby, though!”

We have 12 Under the Nile brand organic cotton fitted diapers, 12 organic cotton Chinese prefolds, and 3 Bummis super whisper wrap covers (used with both kinds of cloth). I usually have to wash diapers every other day.”

“Yes, Lyra, I'm pregnant. Wasn't planned, but we're so happy. I'm due at the end of October so have a looooooooooong way to go.

So out of the three types of diapers you're using, do you have a favorite?

Newborn poop doesn't stink, especially from breast fed babies. The diapers are a piece of cake to wash. So nice to not have to buy big packs of diapers all the time. I remember when Tuck was an infant 13 years ago. I had gone to the mall with him. A young woman approached me and asked if she could have a diaper of mine for her baby. When I told her I used cloth diapers and couldn't give her one, she had the most blank look on her face. She just couldn't understand it.”

“One more question for you, Lyra. Do you use a sling? I highly recommend it!”

“Newborn poop does stink, especially from breast fed babies. I worked in a newborn nursery and delivery room many, many years ago. Therapy has not removed the memory of those stinky diapers;)”

“It really isn't that bad, but there aren't so many volunteers for it either. I'm guessing that in those two years at the Naval Hospital in Japan, I changed more diapers than most men and a lot of women in their life time. Not anything I brag about.”
