CBS news reported they found a buried parachute in the spot where they think DB Cooper was most probable to have landed.

Dude might have survived the jump after all.

I hope he did actually. Modern day legendary outlaw and all...

btw i heard that they decided that the one they found couldn't be the actual one he wore, but could have been one of the reserves. This was based on mfg date or something.

From everything I have read or heard on this, it is hard for me to believe he survived the jump.

www.dropzone.com
skydiving history and trivia
there are two threads; one on the first page; one that is 'locked' on the third page; the second one (the one on the third page) is 68 pages long, started by the wife of Duane Weber who passionately believes her husband was DB; we were also lucky enough to have Agent Carr sign up to the website and give us some invaluable information (some other agents/db obsessors are there still, but Carr has left the forum)
anyways, i dont know that anyone here would actually be interested enough in this case to go check those threads out. but if you are, they are an Incredible read

Agent Carr got the money. He saw the movie No Country For Old Men.

the likeliness of him surviving the jump is slim (although possible)
the likeliness of him keeping the money attached to him while jumping from a JET is almost nill

...is a little over a million bucks at 5% interest. Better than a sharp stick in the eye, but not enough to live a very luxurious lifestyle....

http://www.cnn.com/2008/CRIME/04/01/cooper.chute.ap/index.html

The recently foound chute has been positively eliminated as one of the chutes D.B. Cooper may have used. For one thing, the newly found chute was composed of silk fabric. Cooper's chute was nylon. Kind of a slam dunk elimination there.
