Ok, my dishwasher is not working.....View Messages“Take it out back and shoot some holes in it.” 1:01:02 PM 3/27/08 “Don't give him any ideas....I think the wine is kicking in.” 1:14:21 PM 3/27/08 “hey, at least the damn thing would drain well.” 1:20:58 PM 3/27/08 “LMFAO @ CJ!” 1:48:19 PM 3/27/08 “It's a valid phuking point! ONE mag of .45's. 15 seconds Problem solved! That bltch will drain like a collander! Cost him, what? A buck and a half? Three if he uses the good stuff. He could have been done hours ago, and already had that hooch pollished off, and NGB pollished off too. Now how much more can a guy ask for?!” 1:54:17 PM 3/27/08 “When my dishwasher doesn’t work I slap him on the butt. Loading the dishwasher means getting hubby drunk.” 2:00:22 PM 3/27/08 “LMAO, Mtn Gal!” 2:01:23 PM 3/27/08 “Well, I took a couple parts out then I took a break.... then after sucking down some wine, we went and met Randall and Guitar Gal for dinner...a couple beers there.... then home and another beer.... I reckin I will work on it again tomorrow.” 6:04:03 PM 3/27/08 “there are some chevy waterpumps that will retrofit...........” 6:21:06 PM 3/27/08 “meanwhile NGB is washing the dishes...” 6:21:34 PM 3/27/08 “whoohooo, reading this thread made me get off my butt and fix my dishwasher. Mine had the same problem, it would drain some but always left a pool of nasty water in the bottom a few inches thick. I being non-mechanical started from the inside and was working down toward the grinder. Got to a part that wouldn't come off and quit. It wasn't a problem for me because i have an in-law living with us TEMPORARILY until he gets his feet back under him. I figure he can wash dishes by hand and if he gets tired he can give off his butt and fix the washer. No such luck. So after reading this thread I went underneath and unscrewed the drain connector ... then put it back on due to all the water pouring out. got a hose from outside and unscrewed it again and let teh water run out the hose. Then cleaned out some melted plastic globular thing that came off a spatula we ruined in the dishwasher. Put it all back together and now it works. Only i have a leak now between teh door and the washer. I hope its just a dry seal.” 6:27:48 PM 3/27/08 “Dumb looks are free, for the inspiration, please send cash. $40 should suffice.” 6:31:37 PM 3/27/08 “the price of a two finger bag??” 6:32:25 PM 3/27/08 “I cannot recall at this time.” 6:40:47 PM 3/27/08 “I had a similar problem chili, the end result after fixing the problem (clogged line to the disposal) and replacing the water supply line was just over $14,000 worth of damage to my kitchen and bath.” 7:01:02 PM 3/27/08 “The discharge line is not clogged. I was able to remove the cover to the impeller, but I need a 1" open end wrench to remove the impeller and get down to the drain outlet. On the drain cycle, some water will come out (I hear it draining to the sink) but it doesn't all get drained. I highly suspect I am going to find some sludge or other blockage down near the drain in the unit.” 7:05:39 PM 3/27/08 “good luck man. all in all I am happy with the damage I incurred. The work sucked but was worth it. Again, good luck. I recommend copious amounts of alcohol.” 7:13:39 PM 3/27/08 “I am way ahead of the curve in that aspect. I am figuring this is at least an 18 pack job.” 7:18:37 PM 3/27/08 “I bet Chili is watching Tenn basketball now.” 7:18:58 PM 3/27/08 “Oh, damn. Forgot about that.” 7:20:05 PM 3/27/08 “I am way ahead of the curve in that aspect. I am figuring this is at least an 18 pack job.” chili 7:18:37 PM 3/27/08 Got to love a man of action” 7:23:42 PM 3/27/08 “good luck, chili. I lucked out with a clog in the outlet drain. And I fixed the leak around the door too. Turns out someone half pulled the door off and didn't seat it back correctly (possibly my out of work live in dishwasher). Its all better now.” 7:59:34 PM 3/27/08 “I would say hyway is my hero, but I am afraid he will want me to sleep in his tent at Trail Days.” 8:04:18 PM 3/27/08 “hey, no sleeping in my tent, we do the deed then you take your ass back to your own tent.” 8:17:21 PM 3/27/08 “I don't want any of what Zach got.” 8:38:34 PM 3/27/08 “he got it from you so you can have it back” 10:08:56 PM 3/27/08 “Ok, it only took 7 beers to get the impeller out. Of course they don't make this part anymore, but it appears there may be a replacement part. Two beers to order the part, 5 to put it back in and 2 while I run a test cycle and I can complete this project in my 18 beer budget.” 8:04:55 AM 3/29/08 “If you'd have shot the damn thing in the beginning you could have just sat on your azz today and drank the beer.” 8:08:53 AM 3/29/08 “If I can't find the damn replacement part, there is still time for that.” 8:10:37 AM 3/29/08 “If you can't get just the impeller, can you get the whole pump instead?” 8:11:59 AM 3/29/08 “save money, buy a scrubboard....” 8:13:36 AM 3/29/08 “plan ahead for project overruns, buy some Jack Daniels” 8:31:50 AM 3/29/08 “good plan Hyway” 8:35:37 AM 3/29/08 “Life is somewhat in balance again....a replacement part is available. Time for another beer.” 8:40:07 AM 3/29/08 “Scrub board for dishes? Must be a Texas thing.” 9:06:27 AM 3/29/08 “You can still buy scrub boards and gavanized tubs in Maryville, TN.” 9:07:48 AM 3/29/08 “Here too.” 9:38:04 AM 3/29/08 “WTH. So I get the impeller out, get a new one, put it in. Run a test cycle and...yep, still water in the tub. I start another cycle, cancel it, hit the drain button and it drained every bit of it out. Just won't drain completely on the original cycle.” 2:48:29 PM 4/01/08 “Ack. Looks like I'm late to this party, but the first thing I, too thought was, "Mine's not working either. She just sits and watches Oprah all day long!" Then with the whole part about cycles and puddles of water on the floor...” 2:55:21 PM 4/01/08 “"A contact in your timer is out" says Fifthmaster” 5:49:12 PM 4/01/08 “I guess it is time to call in a professional.” 6:56:24 PM 4/01/08 “well, there goes $150” 7:50:14 PM 4/01/08 “You can get a good new one at Sears for less than $300.” 8:17:34 PM 4/01/08 “Mine is broken, too. It leaks actually. We pulled it out and found out the heating element has melted through the tub. For the last six months I've been washing by hand. Oh, the horror. I hate doing dishes. The other day some friends of ours (she works for Whirlpool) told us to pick out any Whirlpool dishwasher from their web site and she could get it for me for $200. SWEET!” 6:11:54 AM 4/02/08 “I've never lived with a dishwasher...my chore as a child was to unload ours and I hated it...I still hate it...I'd rather wash dishes by hand...of course, there are only 2 of us so that is no big deal... In India I had a woman who came daily, cleaned the house, filled water jugs, cleaned and refilled the kerosene lamps, washed clothes and cleaned the kitchen for $1/week...she was so over paid (this was during the entire 70's) that we never told anyone her wages so her neighbors would not be jealous... I miss her....” 6:33:08 AM 4/02/08 “My dishwasher was putting puddles on my floor, and after figuring out how to take it apart, saw where the leak was underneath. Looking inside on the bottom I saw a crack. Felt pretty good as my son and I got the ductape out and sealed it up just to see if that was it. Hooray!! no more puddles. Victory dance and high-fives all around for Mighty Mom! Later, went to wash something and realized I never turned the water back on. :( With water on, puddles as bad as ever. Oh well...” 6:45:22 AM 4/02/08 “Yeah, before I spend $150 for a service call (and it looks like a timer is $125 if I buy it direct), I will just scrap heap this one and get another. Sears had one almost like mine for $269.” 6:56:49 AM 4/02/08 “see what you get for ignoring the advice to just take it out and shoot it ;-) of course it was a good excuse to have some wine ...” 7:12:40 AM 4/02/08 “that would be my call. I made the mistake of calling a repair man. $55 to show up, then $55 for each hour (or portion of an hour). then he had a couple small items that he replaced, none were less than $12. It ended up being around $150. For $250-$300 I could have gotten a brand new dishwasher that even though at the lower end of the available options was better than the 6 yo dishwasher I tried to repair.” 7:18:09 AM 4/02/08 “yup. told ya to shoot that POS. Well NOW you can shoot it. Throw it across the back yard too! And hit it with a sledge hammer just in case!” 2:45:08 PM 4/02/08
