Western Mountaineering Product SupportView MessagesViewing posts 1 to 6 of 6 messages posted.
“A little over 3 years ago I purchased the Western Mountaineering Flight Jacket to keep me warm and safe as I stumbled along the AT. It is light and definitely the warmest article of clothing that I own. A few months ago, perhaps due to a continually expanding post hike gut, the zipper just up and popped. Broke. I contacted the manufacturer and they advised me to ship it to them and it would be repaired for free. Yesterday it came back to me, perfectly repaired and no charge. Western Mountaineering is now up there with Henry Shires and Leki in terms of customer support.” 8:32:05 AM 4/02/08 “Cool! I have also had superb service from Campmor, Orvis, LL Bean, Cébé (sunglasses) and Sierra Designs.” 8:44:37 AM 4/02/08 “I was wondering what the story was with Cébé these days, in the States. Some time ago I could get replacement parts from Opticus in Boulder, CO but when I called them back a couple of years ago they referred me to Cébé in Canada. The person I talked to there wasn't exactly 'enthusiastic' about helping..... Actually, she said I was $#!+ outta luck, LOL (not those exact words....) I thought maybe I just got ahold of a Lemon service rep, so I called back a second time and got the same routine: No Clue. Fortunately, last year Sierra Trading Post had the same model on sale for less than half price (weird frame color) so I bought two pair for parts. If you have other contact info, I'd love to have it. I just checked their website again and all it says is "Under Construction".” 10:29:38 AM 4/02/08 “Columbia has great customer service. We have a local '1/2 of 1/2' store that sells seconds or damaged items. I bought a Columbia Jacket for $8.00, but did not notice the zipper was broken. Sent it to Columbia and it was fixed along with the velco that was coming loose.” 11:26:54 AM 4/02/08 “Tilt, they were in the process of moving and things were nuts. The same thing happened when Gabel changed distributors and moved to Montreal. Things are better now. One solution would be to e-mail me dougmurdoch@yahoo.ca (also in my profile) and I'll send you my US postal address. I'd go in and see them and send whatever back to you. The arm on my 4 000 glacier glasses broke and they replaced it on the spot. Mr. J. P.
