Just what a GearHead needs, 2 REI's within 15 miles of my house. Hide my debit card!

I recently picked up an online order (Montrail Hurricane Ridges)at their Northville store, and only spent an additional $33.00 Hows that for will power?

Hmm, business must be good?

Thanks. I bet they put wilderness outfitters out of business.

Did they? I always loved the shop though never bought from em, too pricey.

Ever been to to the gear shop in brighton at that new mall. The name escapes me.

edit, its called go gear. Its pretty good. The owner Joel is a nice guy, again pricey. Its tough to be an independent.

Nope, but when I was doing a search for Montrails locally, Montrails website had that Brighton Store listed, which I'd never heard before. I was trying to get a 2006 pair of Hurricane Ridges.

Remember the Benchmark, I bought gear from them when they were located at 10 mile rd and Middlebelt rds or somewhere close to this either 10 mile rd or 9 mile rd? This was back in 1974-77.
They outfitted me with my first down bag, for a trip out west(Glacier NP) a -5 deg SnowLion. Still have the bag,, and their down vest, which still lofts like new. The bag has lost some loft, on the bottom, but I'll bet if I washed it in some down soap, much of the loft would return.
That bag, probably had 100 nights on it, before I retired it.
Their Farmington Hills store on Grand River was the best, I never got tired of going there.

We shopped there occasionally. The store closing sale was where I got mountain hardwear shorts for $5. It was a bittersweet deal though; the staff there was really knowledgeable. A huge loss IMO.

Please note: Sizes offered in Wide are a 4E width to properly accommodate your feet

Testing ... how long it takes for them to correct this. They were just notified now that it should say "2E".

.... GO!
