advice needed
I was thinking of hiking just the best parts of the JMT with a small group, and was wondering if this schedule would work? Advice needed.

1. start at Lake Thomas A Edison, and hike to Marie lake.
2. Next day, to the first place to camp in the evolution valley.
3. Next day, Evolution Lake, just for the scenery. Might be worth a layover day just for the scenery.
4. Next day, over Muir pass, and toward Barret Lakes. I don't know the mileage of this day, and it might not be doable in one day. This is a stretch of the trail I have not hiked.
5. Barrett Lakes to Palisade Lake, maybe meet a horse outfit with a resupply of food
6. Palisade Lk to Lk Marjorie,
7. Marjorie to Rae Lakes
8. hike to Bubbs Creek, with possible resupply of food by horse packers
9. Bubbs Creek to Wright Lakes
10. Wright lakes to Whitney, over Trail crest and camp where we could on the east side.
11. hike out to trailhead.

Do days 4 and 10 look like trouble? I have hiked the other sections of trail, and they went OK. If anything, we might make them longer since last time we hiked it we climbed a peak about every day.

I have no clue where this is, but it sounds wonderful.

Its in California, and is described thus:

The John Muir Trail, always billed as one of the most spectacular in the world, runs for 211 miles in the Sierra Nevada from Yosemite NP, through the John Muir Wilderness, Ansel Adams Wilderness, Devils Postpile National Monument, Kings NP, and Sequoia NP to its' end at Mt Whitney.

Statistics:

Total hike (exiting at Whitney Portal) = 221 miles
Total elevation Gain = 40,000+ feet
Most of the hike is above 8,000'
Much of the hike is above 10,000'
Highest Pass = 13,100'
Highest Point = Mt Whitney – 14,500'
Resupply points = 4

If you do a google search for images of evolution lake, palisade lake, lake marjorie, rae lakes, guitar lake, and Mt. whitney you will see the views on this hike, which is about half of 2/3 the length of the full John Muir trail. I hiked the full length of the JMT when I was 21, ready to do it again at 58.
