Free! Free at last!

“I am humbled by the combined efforts of so many. I am very sincere when I say I am touched.

I will make an appearance from time to time, but mostly, I will lurk. I will continue to hike with as many of you in as many parts of the country as I can. I will be the same ole chili on the trail.

But, the character of this site changed in my eyes and it will never have the appeal it once did. For me, it will simply be a place to stay in touch with some many that I like so much.

Thank you all for your efforts. It resulted in this....


you have been spoken for by someone who seems pretty reputable to me, so i'm writing to let you know that your ip has been unbanned. the username "chili" is still banned, because if i reinstated it, i would have to reinstate many others who were banned for similar offenses, but you are welcome to create a new username or use one of the others you already have. i haven't been tracking what people say on matt's site, so i don't know if you have any interest in returning to tt, but you have supporters here who have convinced me to give you another shot.
