I think the elevation data is pretty close. The mileage numbers are off quite a bit as my GPS lost signal a LOT during the Dec 06 trip.

I should be getting there mid to late afternoon. I'm gonna try to cache some drinks at one or both of the road crossings.

I'll try not to set up my tent under the "no camping" sign.

I'll be there.

Hey, Chinmusic, we'll be arriving around the same time as you and Mugsy. Will you wait for us and we'll go w/ you or follow you to do drops?

Then we were thinking of hitting the swimming hole by suspension bridge if you want to join us.

Sass - Has your leg healed up enough to do the Marathon Hike? If not you can hike with me. I'm going to start at Martin's Fork and exit somewhere on Tunnel Ridge Road.

Remember folks! We are camping off of tunnel ridge road and NOT at that illegal camp site at martin's fork. See the trip page... The last parking lot on your right before auxier ridge trailhead on tunnel ridge road.

The length of the Rough trail is only 7.8 miles. Seems like it should be farther. I guess if I did that, I could leave my car there the night before to shuttle back.

ChinMusic

I punch holes in my shiz so it will be ultralight. You can shave oz off of shiz this way.
Yogisan

I always eat a bunch of ExLax before hiking. That way my shiz can be put in a zip lock and it is more shape conforming in the pack. No wasted spaces.

Of course this makes falling down less forgiving and I never just drop[ my pack at rest stops.
