Our Nine Banded Possum on the Half Shell “They're here. I have been watching their progression from FL pretty much all my life. And now, after 50 years or so, they have reached the Central Piedmont of GA. They will prolly overtake the fire ant within the next ten years or so. I read a while back that they have migrated farther and faster than any mammal in history. Hmmm. Watch out, Yanks - they're a'coming! last edited: 4/28/08 12:53:53 PM” 12:52:56 PM 4/28/08 “An armour coated rat? Pffft.....we got ammo for that.” 12:57:34 PM 4/28/08 “.....we got ammo for that.” ~Nonconformist Lots and lots I hope.” 1:00:52 PM 4/28/08 “Sounds like they'll give the fishers something more to eat than just porcupines.” 1:45:38 PM 4/28/08 “AH, I do miss 'possums on the halfshell. When they're little, they look like cute little hand grenades with the longest eyelashes you'll ever see.” 2:10:16 PM 4/28/08 “You used to see plenty of them on the roadside, four feet up. Not so much, now. http://www.scsc.k12.ar.us/2002ArkNatHist/Projects/ArnoldL/Images/Armadillo_dead_a02.jpg last edited: 4/28/08 3:23:05 PM” 3:20:42 PM 4/28/08 “ ”3:31:24 PM 4/28/08 “wow, my current range is almost the excate same, with a pretty accurate potential range.” 3:46:53 PM 4/28/08 ““You used to see plenty of them on the roadside, four feet up. Not so much, now. ~Stovey They're getting more smarter and savvyer. Be afraid. Watch out, Yanks - they're a'coming! Never mind - I see they've reach MO.” 4:28:17 PM 4/28/08 “Potential range to PA? It'll never happen. PA will tax the daylights out of them and they'll either leave or avoid the place just like every other entity looking to relocate here.” 4:35:50 PM 4/28/08 “Armadillos are the only north american carrier for leprosy.” 7:43:36 AM 4/29/08 “As a one time frequenter of the now defunct Armadillo World Headquarters, this is good news indeed. There were days I got myself hoarse hollerin along with Jerry Jeff or someone else to London Homesick Blues: Well, when you're down on your luck, and you ain't got a buck, in London you're a goner. Even London Bridge has fallen down, and moved to Arizona, now I know why. And I'll substantiate the rumor that the English sense of humor is drier than than the Texas sand. You can put up your dukes, and you can bet your boots that I'm leavin' just as fast as I can. Chorus I wanna go home with the armadillo Good country music from Amarillo and Abilene The friendliest people and the prettiest women you've ever seen. Well, it's cold over here, and I swear I wish they'd turn the heat on. And where in the world is that English girl I promised I would meet on the third floor. And of the whole damn lot, the only friend I've got is a smoke and a cheap guitar. My mind keeps roamin', my heart keeps longin' to be home in a Texas bar. Chorus Well, I decided that I'd get my cowboy hat and go down to Marble Arch Station. 'Cause when a Texan fancies, he'll take his chances. Chances will be taken, that's for sure. And them Limey eyes, they were eyein' the prize that some people call manly footwear. And they said you're from down South, and when you open your mouth, you always seem to put your foot there. Repeat chorus 'til the cows come home I wanna go home with the armadillo Good country music from Amarillo and Abilene The friendliest people and the prettiest women you've ever seen.” 11:01:09 AM 4/29/08 “Yetserday me and Gissmaeioux and my daddy was walkin in the woods aroun heer and we got ATTAKED by verry menny (prolly sefferel) armerdillers! Gissmaeioux rund one off and chased it perty good but the armerdiller had good runnin skils and got a way. I *all most* got one a bite on his tale but my daddy sayed "No!" so I did not get it a bite. It was gooood times!” 3:42:15 PM 5/31/08 “Leprosy?” 9:21:28 AM 6/02/08
