Here's a funny one for the Dems---an interactive guide: Who in the Bush administration broke the law, and who could be prosecuted?

Bush or Batman?

So why haven't they been charged? I'm not trying to say they are innocent but rather pointing out that the good old boy nod and wink style of justice still goes on.

I don't see what the big deal is over WMD. Particluarly when there was a lot of analysis at the time covering the multitude of reasons behind the conflict.

Oh, and technically, casus belli was met when Saddam broke the rules after the first gulf war, so none of that matters anyway.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- Federal officials on Sunday unveiled an extraordinary takeover of Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac, putting the government in charge of the twin mortgage giants and the $5 trillion in home loans they back.

The move, which extends as much as $200 billion in Treasury support to the two companies, marks Washington's most dramatic attempt yet to shore up the nation's housing market, which is suffering from record foreclosures and falling prices.

The sweeping plan, announced by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson and James Lockhart, director of the Federal Housing Finance Agency, places the two companies into a "conservatorship" to be overseen by the Federal Housing Finance Agency. Under conservatorship, the government would temporarily run Fannie and Freddie until they are on stronger footing.

there will be no "recovery" in the housing market. there has been a correction that has created a fundamental change in lending behavior. get used to your house being worth far less than it used to be. the market that inflated it's value is dead and gone.

people in my neighborhood are trying to sell their houses (it ain't happening) and they are blaming lack of sales on the "market". the real reason their house isn't selling is because they are asking too much... they think "the more you payed the more it's worth".

the real crisis is yet to come when people realize they are paying property taxes on assessments that are far higher than they could possible sell their homes. a school funding crisis is looming that dwarfs anything we have seen in the past. this is what you get when you fund your public schools with the real-estate market.
