Looking for suggestions

“I am looking at doing a hike later this year (Oct) in the North Carolina/Tennessee area of the AT. I will be going with 3-7 other people pending on who actually goes and who is just talking. I want to do 4 or 5 days of medium/fast paced hiking. I am looking for suggestions on what area would be best to start at. I would like to do at least 10 miles a day. What area would give the best hiking/views/shelters etc for doing this? I am open to all suggestions,opinions and input. I have done day hikes before but nothing of this nature. I can add further details as responses come in. Thank you in advance for your time and feedback.”

“What is the furthest distance a group of novice/beginner hikers in good shape can go in one day in good conditions? Does 50 miles in 5 days sound about right or could we shoot for more?

Also, what kind of weather would be looking at for that time of year?

Does anyone have any recommendations of someone I could call to try and get more information or what to expect.

Go here and ask questions, such as parking @ 19E. Don't park on the pull off unless you want to have your car torched...use parking provided by a private landowner close by, I don't know his name or contact info but someone will there.
