Team tracks 'Bigfoot' sightings in Catskill

CATSKILL, N.Y. (AP) - Recent sightings of mysterious animals have drawn a team of trackers of the mythical creature known as "Bigfoot" to the Greene County town of Catskill.

Tom Biscardi, founder of Searching for Bigfoot Incorporated, says he assembled an eight-member team to investigate reports from a local resident who says she and her family have been seeing creatures believed to be Bigfoots on her property.

Patty Williams tells the Kingston Daily Freeman she first saw a pair of creatures - one about seven feet tall and another that looked like a juvenile - about four months ago by the trees near her pigpen. She says they ate her pig's food but didn't bother any of the animals.

Biscardi says his team set up several video and still cameras on Williams' property, and they're packing tasers, night-vision goggles, thermal imagers, tranquilizer guns and a biopsy gun, which shoots a dart to collect skin, hair and blood from whatever it strikes.

He says he's been tracking bigfoots on and off for 35 years, and full time the past four, and is aiming to capture one.

One of these days I'm going to sign up for one of those Bigfoot tracking trips. I don't know if there are any of them left. there is some fossil evidence for Gigantopithecus. If any of them survived till today, that would be a winfall for primate research. The stories of it's presence is shared by people from around the globe. Finding one alive would be wonderful. It would be great to find out that we share the planet with such a creature.

Williams said she threw a rock near where she believed one of the creatures was and it threw the rock back. She said she also threw a football and that it came back.

Rutgers has sent a team of recruiters.

Sasquatch is cool. I love when he beats the guy in the face with the fish. Ooh...how about when he opens the beer and it squirts him in the face and he tips the golf cart over. Can you tell I don't get out much?
