I started a webshots album to hold pics from random trips and whatnot in and around Rocky Mtn National Park.

Went up there sunday for a day of alpine climbing. The climbing trip went bust when i pulled my hamstring (painful), but I did get a few nice shots on Notchtop Mtn and Lake Helene up in the cirque above Odessa Gorge.

How'd you pull the hammy?

Pulled the hammy when i took a small fall from a very wide stemming position in a chimney. Had my legs bridged across about a 4 or 4.5 foot gap and one foot popped free. Made for an interesting escape from the route, but it could have been much sketchier.

It's way way better today - i'm thinking that by Labor Day if not sooner, i'll be back to 100%.

Cool! How many people did you count going up to Sky Pond on a Sunday?

There were lots of peepel going up there, maybe 6 or 7 at Sky Pond when we were. Three times that many on the trail - not a place for solitude on a weekend. But we did get out of the heat down in Denver. It was maybe mid 60s up there. I was surprised to only meet 4 climbers coming back down from Cathedral Spires.

Thanks div - and ductape!

Summer weekends are nice in the Rockies - even at some of the more popular destinations.
