"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God... That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." Those are 2 totally different meanings. Yours implies an definitive Holy war. The actual quote shows humility in wanting to do the right thing.” 7:24:17 PM 9/12/08 “Excuse me Hiker, but why do I/we need to "pray that our leaders are sending our troops out on a task for God?" Palin knows this is our duty from God? I stand by the implication. How is sending our troops wanting to do the right thing, and how does she "know" this? Devine intervention? Please...” 8:20:37 PM 9/12/08 “lots to respond to there- ° you don't need to pray. The prayer was for the Christians she was speaking to. ° the rest of your post makes no sense. It's like doublespeak. She DOESN'T KNOW if it's a duty from God. That is her point. The prayer is to know what God wants us to do, not to say it IS what God wants to do. The whole point is the exact opposite of what you're saying. (caps for emphasis, not yelling)” 8:31:41 PM 9/12/08 “Call it like you see it. It's your right. I don't see it that way and that's my right and my choice. I think she's a puppet idiot. Put out there as a lure for idiot women.” 8:38:27 PM 9/12/08 “nobody questioned your right to have an opinion, but it sure seems you are having thoughts about it. She spoke in plain English. "Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God... That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan." It's common for Christians to pray that we understand God's will because we know we are fallible. That is what she is doing here, ... plain English. Yes, you may interpret it however you want, just don't expect your interpretation to win any logical arguments with other people who read the same text of her prayer.” 8:47:48 PM 9/12/08 “No, she didn't speak in plain English. She spoke in religious speak. The task that our military was sent on was NOT a task from God it was a task from our govornment. I can not and will not believe that our involvement in the Middle East is a task from God. My God is not a war mongor. As far as logic goes, we'll see.” 9:03:46 PM 9/12/08 “Well, I find it interesting that you would claim to know God's will, considering your reasons for disliking Governor Palin. Maybe you're projecting??? ... Maybe not.” 9:12:18 PM 9/12/08 “Why the heck aren't you the up and coming VP? You sure can do the SPIN. Palin sure can't. I have to give an LOL here. This has turned into the Hiker1984 and Pamster show. BTW, if your b-date is 1984 you are a year younger than my youngest pup.” 9:32:59 PM 9/12/08 “It's Sarge” 10:13:03 PM 9/12/08 “It's not spin Pamster. It's what she said. Get your coffee in the morning, and try reading it again, this time in it's entirety. :-) I wasn't born in 1984. It's a book. And we agree, Palin isn't a spinster.” 11:15:22 PM 9/12/08 “pamster, the original story you posted was full of lies and you back it 100%? I just want to know if you think Sarah Plain has personally shot hundreds of wolves from the air. I could ask the same about many of the other obvious lies from that story, but the answer to this one will tell me if there is any point in giving your opinion any more attention” 6:33:53 AM 9/13/08 “In full drag Tilt ;o) LOL No hyway, not lies. Opinions on her actions. And no I never said I back any of it 100%. You sure make easy assumptions when you chose to. Interesting.” 6:51:40 AM 9/13/08 “Great book by the way. At least we have that in common, and the outdoors.” 6:57:09 AM 9/13/08 “Everyone is looking for that one big thing that seals the deal, that blows her out of the water, but what it really comes down to is the fact she's just not ready to be VP. She's not on top of the issues at stake for America, and it's questionable if she ever will be. Should a VP be called on then you're already in a time of crisis or potential crisis, and you need someone who can step in and steady the ship. This could potentially have been after 9/11 for example, has the PA plane targeted DC. No she didn't drop the ball in her interview, but it was also obvious she's not comfortable with national and international issues - drilling ANWR, yes - dealing with Russia of the Middle East, no. Getting earmarks for her state - yes - turning the American economy around, no. She's just learning to run a state she's lived in all her life - let alone the rest of the nation - let alone dealing with places she probably would struggle to find on a map until a week ago. And you could say she'll have this team around her with all the knowledge, but it's pretty obvious how the Bush years prove this just doesn't work. After four or eight years of paying attention to all of this stuff, pouring over newspapers with a thirst, she may have been ready - but not at a day's notice from the McCain camp. And yes, hers is a compelling story, a mom with five kids from the wilds of Alaska - but we're asking her to potentially run an America that is a long long way from Alaska.” 7:25:34 AM 9/13/08 “We are not ants or bees, we are human. Why then do we travel in singlefile to our daily tasks and keep constant check, by media, as to the queens orders?” 7:48:36 AM 9/13/08 “Unfortunately we may be traveling to our tasks as to the queens orders.” 8:10:04 AM 9/13/08 “but what it really comes down to is the fact she's just not ready to be VP. Yet she has more cred and experience than Obama himself. (Yeah I know, and I'll keep saying as many times as you claim she's unqualified) :P” 9:32:08 AM 9/13/08 “In full something, Pam! LOL These days he changes his ID about every two weeks then eventually 'outs' himself.” 10:19:59 AM 9/13/08 “tilt, I'm not ashamed of who I am. of the 2 of us, i'm the one staying on topic, while you snipe. you're the one who SHOULD hide. I make it obvious who I am on purpose, but if you want to harp on the name thing, like you so often do, it only reflects on you.” 11:46:07 AM 9/13/08 “funny how when the left gets busted using lies or poor logic, then suddenly it's "but you're sarge, so this conversation doesn't count, and you're mean." lol typical” 11:48:47 AM 9/13/08 “I'm struggling to understand how a limited knowledge base suddenly becomes a qualification to be the most powerful person in the world. Maybe we could make her coach of the Dallas Cowboys too - oh wait - they want that person to know something about football.” 11:51:27 AM 9/13/08 “Just change up Palin's word a little from her talk before her Wasilla Assembly of God church and you could have an Imam exhorting people to do Allah's will and start a holy war. Is that really who most people want in the White House?” 12:06:09 PM 9/13/08 “I'm struggling to understand how a limited knowledge base suddenly becomes a qualification to be the most powerful person in the world. - y2 Nobody will hold it against you if you don't vote for Obama for that reason. Seriously.” 12:21:48 PM 9/13/08 “let's change your words a little, violin, and see what you have to say ... ----- "Is a black person really who most people want in the White House?" - violin” 12:25:15 PM 9/13/08 “any Baptist in here? How bouts Catholics?” 12:58:42 PM 9/13/08 “Violin drives a chick car.” 1:19:37 PM 9/13/08 “She's a nut.” 1:30:46 PM 9/13/08 “Heavens to Murgatroyd, gelical Evan!” 1:35:06 PM 9/13/08 “They put a nut in the White House before and look what happened. Holy Crap! Gimme some more o' that! ” 1:52:19 PM 9/13/08 “Silver spoon boy makes a lot of noise.” 2:16:17 PM 9/13/08 “Tracking her soon to be where the huskies go she came upon a miracle of lemonkoolaidsnow.” 2:53:09 PM 9/13/08 “WASILLA, Alaska -- Aides to Gov. Sarah Palin are scrambling to explain details of her only trip outside North America -- which, according to a new report, did not include Iraq, as the McCain-Palin campaign had initially claimed. Palin made an official visit to see Alaskan troops in Kuwait in July of 2007. There, she made a stop at a border crossing with Iraq, but did not actually visit the country, according to a new report in the Boston Globe. Earlier, McCain aides had said that Palin visited Iraq, and expressed indignation at questions about her slim foreign travel. The campaign also said she had been to Ireland; that turned out to have been a refueling stop. In her ABC interview, Palin said she had also been to Canada and to Mexico, where her advisers said she went on vacation. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/the-trail/2008/09/13/report_palin_did_not_visit_ira.html?hpid=topnews McCain-Palin Crowd-Size Estimates Not Backed by Officials McCain aide Kimmie Lipscomb told reporters on Sept. 10 that an outdoor rally in Fairfax City, Virginia, drew 23,000 people, attributing the crowd estimate to a fire marshal. Fairfax City Fire Marshal Andrew Wilson said his office did not supply that number to the campaign and could not confirm it. eporter Marc Fisher estimated the crowd to be 8,000 Another event The McCain campaign said 10,000 people the campaign attributed that estimate, and several that followed, to U.S. Secret Service figures ``We didn't provide any numbers to the campaign,'' said Malcolm Wiley, a spokesman for the U.S. Secret Service http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601070&sid=a1J0tfV3XJYs&refer=politics” 4:56:47 PM 9/13/08 “Since taking office in 2007, Ms. Palin has spent 312 nights at her Wasilla home, some 600 miles to the north of the governor’s mansion in Juneau, records show. During the last legislative session, some lawmakers became so frustrated with her absences that they took to wearing “Where’s Sarah?” pins. My god, she is a female Dubya. (scroll down on the Post site above).” 5:07:26 PM 9/13/08 “This is interesting - great five-pager from the NYT. Some snippets from it. http://www.nytimes.com/2008/09/14/us/politics/14palin.html?pagewanted=1&_r=1&em So when there was a vacancy at the top of the State Division of Agriculture, she appointed a high school classmate, Franci Havemeister, to the $95,000-a-year directorship. A former real estate agent, Ms. Havemeister cited her childhood love of cows as a qualification for running the roughly $2 million agency. Ms. Havemeister was one of at least five schoolmates Ms. Palin hired, often at salaries far exceeding their private sector wages. But an examination of her swift rise and record as mayor of Wasilla and then governor finds that her visceral style and penchant for attacking critics — she sometimes calls local opponents “haters” — contrasts with her carefully crafted public image. The governor and her top officials sometimes use personal e-mail accounts for state business; dozens of e-mail messages obtained by The New York Times show that her staff members studied whether that could allow them to circumvent subpoenas seeking public records. But a new pattern became clear. She surrounded herself with people she has known since grade school and members of her church. Dan Fagan, a prominent conservative radio host and longtime friend of Ms. Palin, urged his listeners to vote for her in 2006. But when he took her to task for raising taxes on oil companies, he said, he found himself branded a “hater.” It is part of a pattern, Mr. Fagan said, in which Ms. Palin characterizes critics as “bad people who are anti-Alaska.”” 5:21:24 PM 9/13/08 “But when he took her to task for raising taxes on oil companies funny how the left believes the NYT, but how much yaa w nna bet this tidbit w nt in one ear & out the other?.... But when he took her to task for raising taxes on oil companies But when he took her to task for raising taxes on oil companies apply directly to the forehead” 5:40:18 PM 9/13/08 “"Charlie Gibson got it wrong. There is no single meaning of the Bush doctrine. In fact, there have been four distinct meanings, each one succeeding another over the eight years of this administration—and the one Charlie Gibson cited is not the one in common usage today. It is utterly different. He asked Palin, 'Do you agree with the Bush doctrine?' She responded, quite sensibly to a question that is ambiguous, 'In what respect, Charlie?' Sensing his 'gotcha' moment, Gibson refused to tell her. After making her fish for the answer, Gibson grudgingly explained to the moose-hunting rube that the Bush doctrine 'is that we have the right of anticipatory self-defense.' Wrong. I know something about the subject because... I was the first to use the term. In the cover essay of the June 4, 2001, issue of the Weekly Standard entitled, 'The Bush Doctrine: ABM, Kyoto, and the New American Unilateralism,' I suggested that the Bush administration policies of unilaterally withdrawing from the ABM treaty and rejecting the Kyoto protocol, together with others, amounted to a radical change in foreign policy that should be called the Bush doctrine. Then came 9/11, and that notion was immediately superseded by the advent of the war on terror. In his address to the joint session of Congress nine days after 9/11, President Bush declared: 'Either you are with us or you are with the terrorists. From this day forward any nation that continues to harbor or support terrorism will be regarded by the United States as a hostile regime.' This 'with us or against us' policy regarding terror... became the essence of the Bush doctrine. Until Iraq. A year later, when the Iraq war was looming, Bush offered his major justification by enunciating a doctrine of preemptive war. This is the one Charlie Gibson thinks is the Bush doctrine. It's not. It's the third in a series and was superseded by the fourth and current definition of the Bush doctrine, the most sweeping formulation of the Bush approach to foreign policy and the one that most clearly and distinctively defines the Bush years: the idea that the fundamental mission of American foreign policy is to spread democracy throughout the world... Yes, Sarah Palin didn't know what it is. But neither does Charlie Gibson. And at least she didn't pretend to know—while he looked down his nose and over his glasses with weary disdain, sighing and 'sounding like an impatient teacher,' as the [New York] Times noted. In doing so, he captured perfectly the establishment snobbery and intellectual condescension that has characterized the chattering classes' reaction to the mother of five who presumes to play on their stage." —Charles Krauthammer” 3:25:05 PM 9/15/08 “Pamster, here are some outright lies in teh article you posted. Since you posted it I have to believe you are basing your opinion or are in agreement with what the moonbat says. But before I get into those I just have to comment on the highly scientific reason she posted for putting the polar bear on the endangered species list - "Maybe it's their snowy whiteness or their bigness or the fact that they live in the arctic or that I have never seen one in person or touched one. Maybe it is the fact that they live so comfortably on ice. Whatever it is, I need the polar bears." I'll take Sarah Palin's informed position over this moonbat any day. I am only limiting this to the outright lies that are unquestionably false in any rational person's view. There are many more lies that some may think are debatable. Now the lies: "She does not believe in global warming" - This is typical of people on the left. If anyone shows any proclivity to question if global warming is man-made then they automatically don't believe in global warming. "Iraq is here to be taken and plundered." - Are you kidding me. I wish the republicans would plunder Iraq. We didn't even take it. We just through out a ruler and have been trying to give it back ever since. As she said herself of the Iraqi war, "It was a task from God." - Only a true dunce who is spoon fed their information from places like the daily kos could believe that's what she actually said. Sarah Palin does not believe in abortion. - Another lie. Though it is true that she puts an unborn child's life over the emotional state of a raped woman, she does not put an unborn life over the life of the mother if that unborn child puts the mothers life is at risk. So she does believe in abortion, but only when one life must be chosen over another. Sarah Palin does not much believe in thinking. - Good grief. She put herself through college, has run businesses, campaigns, a town and a state. I think its easy to see who doesn't believe in thinking and would rather just parrot the lies she is told. She has been known to kill 40 caribou at a clip. She has shot hundreds of wolves from the air. - hahahahahahahahahahahaah omg lol 40 caribou in a clip. A clip doesn't even hold 40 rounds. Even if it did I am sure that would be front page news from both sides (the repubs would be touting her accuracy). I haven't seen an article that said Palin has shot even one wolf from the air much less hundreds of them. Sarah believes in God. That is of course her right, her private right. But when God and Guns come together in the public sector, when war is declared in God's name, when the rights of women are denied in his name, that is the end of separation of church and state and the undoing of everything America has ever tried to be. - Please name the legislation that Palin has signed or authorized that did any of those things.” 5:14:33 PM 9/15/08 “Hyway - all these points are more directed at the people who may vote for Palin because she was a woman - perhaps at former Hillary voters. They're not really pointed at dyed-in-the-wool conservatives who don't believe global warming is man-made. Lets look at a few of them you claim are lies. Palin has ignored the recommendations of her own staff on the risks to Polar bears. Global warming - this is as much about your view on things as the author's. Iraq - come on, that's the most rose-tinted view ever - up there with mission accomplished. She did say it was task from god - it's not difficult to avoid this. Would you really send people off to war saying 'lets all hope this is what god wants'? Abortion - she only believes in abortion in extreme circumstances. This is not far from not believing at all. Thinking - well given her answers to 'Charlie' - she's not been doing much thinking about the problems facing America - just Alaska. Wolves and Caribou - ok, well I'll give you that one sounds a stretch. And lastly - she was only there 18 months. What ya expecting there. She's already performed miracles - apparently. ;o)” 5:51:11 PM 9/15/08 “The dems have had marginal control of congress for the same amount of time and have completely distroyed the country by doing nothing.” 7:48:00 PM 9/15/08 “The lady in the article didn't say anything about man-made global warming, she said she doesn't believe in global warming. The woman lied when she made that claim. no if and or buts. I was talking about the idiot woman's view that polar bears should be listed as endangered because they are snowy white. We can both at least agree that whether or not polar bears should be on the endangered list that they are snowy white really isn't a discussion point. We aren't in Iraq to plunder it. The Iraqies are already doing that and we aren't taking any of it. No rosey glasses here. y2, you must not spend much time around christians. They do indeed talk and pray quite often about hoping that what they are doing is what god wants. I am not a christian, and don't put much stock in the bible or religion at all, but I grew up with the church and around many christians and there is no doubt in my mind that she wasn't saying that this IS a task from god, but that she hopes that what we are doing in Iraq does somehow fit within God's plan. Frankly, I am surprised that the left isn't using her sermon as evidence that she isn't sure about what we are doing in Iraq. Believing in abortion a little bit means you believe in abortion just like being a little bit pregnant means you are pregnant. she just doesn't believe in putting a woman's emotional status above the life of the unborn child. You aren't doing much thinking if you think seeing an edited version of her interview shows her ability to think, especially when the best anyone can diss her on is that she stumbled over bush's doctrine. Ha, I bet Charlie didn't know what it was before his researchers told him what it was (and wrongly at that) The truth is that the woman in that article didn't have a clue on who Sarah Palin truly is and what she is really all about. She is just taking internet claptrap as fact and passing on to people who are just as intellectually lazy” 8:01:24 PM 9/15/08 “Iraq - come on, that's the most rose-tinted view ever - Y2 No, hyway is more or less on target. We've been over this before, and you failed to make your case. Utterly failed. Did you think a few weeks' time would be enough for people to forget that?” 5:23:42 AM 9/16/08 Palin: America\'s Queen of Pork “It's like a play by play from the Bush Administration (pick your scandal). Yup, more of the SAME CRAP from McCain/Palin. "Yeah. We're elected. We're ABOVE the law..." Palin Won't Cooperate in Probe of Trooper Firing, Campaign Says Tony Hopfinger Tue Sep 16, 12:21 AM ET Sept. 16 (Bloomberg) -- Alaska Governor Sarah Palin won't cooperate in an investigation into the firing of the state's top law enforcement official because the probe has become ``tainted'' by partisan politics, a McCain-Palin campaign spokeswoman told reporters in Anchorage. ” 8:21:32 AM 9/16/08 “She's all for pork, as long as it's HER pork! What a sham artist! Palin supports $600 million 'other' bridge project Associated Press ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Gov. Sarah Palin may eventually have said "no thanks" to a federally funded Bridge to Nowhere. But a bridge to her hometown of Wasilla, that's a different story. A $600 million bridge and highway project to link Alaska's largest city to Palin's town of 7,000 residents is moving full speed ahead, despite concerns the bridge could worsen some commuting and threaten a population of beluga whales. Wait, lemme guess. This is the mean, liberal media! last edited: 9/16/08 1:10:46 PM” 1:08:39 PM 9/16/08 “She couldn't manage a hamlet of 6000 and had to hire an administrator. Just the kind of person we need as a backup for McCain and his faulty decision-making. Now McCain, Inc is casting the investigation of her little games as "tainted"..... LMAO Yeah, 'tainted'... sure.... the minute the McCain thugs flew in and started obstructing justice. ” 1:38:56 PM 9/16/08 “Liberal Flopsweat” 2:00:40 PM 9/16/08 “so much hate. Its a good thing Obama is running on a campaign of change. If he wins the first thing he should do is clean up his own people” 3:32:11 PM 9/16/08 “Yeah... I kinda hate wasteful spending and abuse of office. If that defines a liberal, I'll wear the label proudly.” 5:05:49 AM 9/17/08 “anyone see the interview on fox last night greta van-croocked-mouth did with todd palin...wow, it was painfull to watch...he's not the wittiest guy in alaska” 5:15:48 AM 9/17/08 “They like telling tall stories in Alaska don't they - I guess she's trying to export that now.” 5:26:32 AM 9/17/08 Jump to Page << prev
