Hiking Food
Hey y'all. Heard about this site from my uncle. From the Blue Ridge Mountains of SC, and heard y'all have a great little community here.

Just curious what y'all eat when ya hike?
My uncle says he used to take horse meat on all his hikes. Pretty old now so I don't know if I beleive him but said it tasted better than a damn Filet Mignon. Anybody ever take a bite out of Barbaro?

I've tried it, just to be polite. It's actually very tastey and lean. I just can't get past munchin on Trigger. I'll try most things once. I do draw the line with a few things, Fido, Fluffy kitty and chitterlins. I ain't eating my pets or anything that has to be stump whipped to get the poop out of them. I know, TMI. Back to my crate now. =o)

I've tried a little horse in my day, black stallion to be exact. I'm not ashamed to say I'd do it again, not sure how to bring it on a hike though. Did your uncle have some kind of horse jerky?
