Spam Idea

“I just found a piece of email I really needed in my spam filter. I was wondering are there any email providers that automatically let email containing a certain word through your filter? Neither of my work emails, not my personal email have it.

For example, if I posted something about thru-hike of the Cohos trail, I could instruct my filter to let any email with "Cohos" in the subject box to go through. I could even say, "please put 'Cohos' on the subject line of your email.”

“ped - I know Outlook will do that. I used to participate in an engineering listserv and had Outlook dump all emails forwarded from that server into a particular folder. You can do the same with subject, but don't know about text within the email. You probably can though.”

“Crash - well at least I'd be getting spam that was aimed at me in particular.

Day: Sadly, my yahoo account lets me search my mail folders - but it ignores the spam folder. Otherwise that would be a great way to make sure I was flushing out certain critical items along with the offers of enlargement, replica wathces, and discount candaian pharmacies.”

“how bout telling the person that sent you the email to stop talking dirty?”

“Yahoo has a searchable spam folder. Unless you have the settings checked to remove all spam immediately. Then nothing gets stored in there but you can filter things directly to the bulk mail folder and search it later.”

“Rev: Yahoo lets me look at the spam, but searches ignore the spam folder.

I suppose I could move everything from Spam to another folder and then search, but that's already getting to be a nuisance.”
