Under the sleeping bag

What do you use under your sleeping bag?
First time out in our 9x9 tent (me, my wife and two small kids)
I have an air mattress to put under the bags but it takes up a lot of room. It is an electric pump so I can not deflate it every AM as that would run down the battery.
Has any of ya all used the foam padding or anything else that does the trick that I can stash away during the day?
Thanks.

Just be careful, If you put the wrong side down, it rips the bottom of your tent to shreds...

I didn't like your denigration of rocks.
That's racist.

Or insulmat. Same principle but seems to hold up better than the BA brand. Thermarest pads are pretty good too, better for insulation imo but not as comfortable. And for the cheapest option but bulkiest, a foam pad like a ridgerest or zrest will do the job.
