Plan to hike the entire 40 mile loop in less than 2.5 days during the weekend after Thanksgiving. Nice trail, not very hard, lots of streams, some views, bogs, and rhododendron jungles. Good camping.

Sorry Fritz, had to change the dates again. Hope you can make it, I think you'll enjoy this trail.

And for those who might want to come, there will be high mileage days so we can bang out the loop.

Not too far from the QT, WK.

Fritz, if you can do the OLP in a day, you can do this.

Snow would be good.

Maybe we can pack in a little turkey dinner.

I'll bring lots of food, and I always save room to eat other people's food. It just tastes better.

I think Pennsy had this dehydrated Thanksgiving meal once, it was really good.

I am a maybe. I need to look at the map but here is my dillema.. I will be in Allentown PA with my kids for Thanksgiving, so after the hike on Sunday i will have to drive back there, pick them up and then head to Richmond..

I am thinking about possibly starting to hike earlier on Friday (mid mornign), meet up with you guys friday night, hike with you on Saturday and then have a shorter day Sunday so I can get out of there...

That sounds like the usual way we plan hikes like this.

Eh, nevermind. Today I can't pay attention long enough to read it seems.

Must, must, must be safely home by sundown on Sunday night! Shotgun opening day is the following Monday. :0

My new GF is implying a wild weekend if I stay home.......

You're even debating that?

New gfs usually mean it when they say "wild weekend". Although you might want some clarification on how she defines "wild".

(Some of us would define it as mud-slogging 18 mile/day buttkicker hikes in a hurricane.)
