Sounds like an ambitious week! Adams will be somewhat of a letdown after Rainier, but it's still a fun climb. You picked what is usually a good weather window. I'd consider the Adams climb, but unfortunately I will be flying to ... (wait for it) ... Cleveland. Yes, believe it or not, I already know this sad fact.

If anyone wants to meet up in the park but not climb the mountain, there's an alternative get together happening.

It's mostly women. A dozen possible right now. Keep that in mind. ;)

Maybe skip the IMG and see about getting your own private guide? Knowledgeable climbers have told me that they can be a little of a racket and too easily turn you back?

Still another option..

Y'all really should have some male company, Spindlette.

Ya know...............what with the goats and bears.

Pththhhhht MarkO. Male company? What for?

Bears are smart enough to fear this particular assembled lot of backpacker wimmin.

We have no worries.

Can I come along? Not sure if I want to climb Rainier, but maybe Adams. Or just hike like a madman.

I have never been out west, hence the following:

WARNING: Taking jmitch on trips is a bad idea as I will want to see everything, will cram in as much as possible, will relentlessly be on the go, and I might become annoying and/or aggravating.

Mt. Adams - Sleeping Beauty Trail
CrazyP, a bunch of us PNW hikers from tt that developed a group got together to do some hikes posted on Phil's photo page, but I do not see that we documented our trip to Mt. Adams.

The trip had 2 purposes, to celebrate the marriage of Nomad & Meerkat, and to hike the Sleeping Beauty Trail.

That trail is excellent. It's all about the 360 degree views from the top. You can see many moutains from this unobstructed view, I believe, Mt. Rainer, Mt. Hood, Mount St. Helens & I don't know if I've left one out (Mt. Baker?).

Thanks for the report..

We saw Adams from the top of South Sister, so I'm sure you could probably see the 3 Sisters from Adams... I imagine its a gorgeous view from up there if the sky is clear..

Information on Adams

Mount St Helens

hmmm, I'd like to do both.

Summer on St Helens is brutal from what I hear.

What do you mean by brutal? That is actually the most popular time to climb it...

I suggested it to a local. He said:

Snagging a permit for St. Helen's would *probably* be do-able, but chancy because it's on a lottery system. Besides, you'd NEVER catch me up there in the summer because of the choking ash & dust, ball bearing pebbles, (ie- one stop forward, slide two steps back...) and the oppressive heat!

I still want to do it. :)

I like this whole " invading the west cost"
theme !!

Need more climbers !! Who aint scared ???

Cant have only 2 people represent TT on the mountain while the rest of you guys are hiking around, drinking, laughing and having a good old time.

Ah crap, nevermind - Thats what we do on all our trips. Still need more climbers though!

Lemme look at this list... :) There's a lot of driving here(copy/paste then add comments) I'm deleting any I don't know... Adding a few at the bottom...

Mount Baker (area) - Artist point! Very pretty
Bellingham - Oyster Bar Boundary Bay
Brewery - Add Chuckanut Drive

Skyline Divide Trail - which one? I know of 2, maybe 3

North Cascades Scenic Hiway - Gorgeous!!!
Winthrop - fun, but I wouldn't do this AND L'worth
Mount Shuksan - can be paired with Baker (don't do both) Lake Ann has been on my list for a LONG time.
Blue Lake - which one? lol
Washington Pass - VERY cool! See both sides of the crest at the same time!

Winthrop Brewing Co - Good food, lousy service

Bavarian Leavenworth - ALL of downtown L'worth is the "Bavarian" part... Uncle Uli's, NOT Gustavs (overpriced and horrible service). The bookstore is one of my faves. I know where y'all can stay if you come there. ;)
Lake Wenaatchee State Park - skip it.
Mt SI - BORING
Snoqualmie Falls - nice, but touristy
Nut Cracker Museum (fitting place for is nuts) - kinda fun

Columbia River Gorge - Gorgeous! (er, no pun intended). You can drive on the OR or the WA side... Add Multnomah Falls
Stevenson - Char Burger is to be avoided! lol. You DO know the PCT runs right through there. Bridge of the Gods. Eagle Creek (alternate PCT route) is fantastic! Tunnel falls - hike behind a waterfall. Easy and beautiful hike!
Goldendale - I haven't been there, but I want to! Not really near anything, so long boring drive in desert.

Rainier - Wapati Woolies
Olympics - Rain forest, Coast - Esp Rialto Beach
Lotsa pubs! McMinnamins!

No Seattle touristy things?
