File this one under “Deluded Expectations.” During MSNBC’s coverage of the terrorist attacks in Mumbai, India, on Thursday, daytime anchor Alex Witt seemed frustrated that the election of Barack Obama 23 days earlier — and the accompanying “global outpouring of affection, respect, hope” — had not caused an end to terrorist violence.

Pentagon to Detail Troops to Bolster Domestic Security

By Spencer S. Hsu and Ann Scott Tyson
Washington Post Staff Writers
Monday, December 1, 2008; A01

The U.S. military expects to have 20,000 uniformed troops inside the United States by 2011 trained to help state and local officials respond to a nuclear terrorist attack or other domestic catastrophe, according to Pentagon officials.

The long-planned shift in the Defense Department's role in homeland security was recently

Predictions
Okay within one year we will see Hillary going to (insert name of country) and within 60 days of her visit (either side) CGI (Clinton Global -Bill's front company) will get a donation from either a) the nation her Thighness visited, or b) a group of immigrants earning no money a year but able to give multi thousands or even millions. It will happen, the media will ignore it.

Seeing the progress in the new administration will be like watching a fire sale of our nation.

In a way I'm kind of glad the democrats control everything. This way we don't have to hear them blame Bush for four years. They have the control to do whatever they like.

Pardon my while I fiddle while Rome burns.

LOL...you really think that will happen. Lets see Shrub was responsible for 9/11 even though (and this is a stretch) he had technically been in office less than 9 months (without the charachteristic time period to prepare like B.O has had). Additionally as these clowns here will not admit to, the outgoing administration gave but 3 references to the growing islamic threat.
B.O. on the other hand will be able to hit the ground with full briefings, table top exercises and 143 days of experience in the Senate....(LOL)

I am betting the North East gets the first "loving peace agreement" and I am betting I won't care.

There must be eddies in the space/time continuum. At least lil Bush was actually in office...Obama's at fault for the economy being in the toilet even though we've been in a recession for a year and he doesn't take office for two months.

Additionally as these clowns here will not admit to, the outgoing administration gave but 3 references to the growing islamic threat.

I'm sure four references would have made quite a difference. 'Spose lil Bush woulda read My Pet Goat faster?

Everybody Tells Me Everything
by Ogden Nash

I find it very difficult to enthuse
Over the current news.
Just when you think that at least the outlook is so black that it can grow no blacker, it worsens,
And that is why I do not like the news, because there has never been an era when so many things were going so right for so many of the wrong persons.

The Consitution prohibits an increase in pay during a serving "elected" official's term. As for Her Thighness, the Sec State (LOL for her skill at accepting flowers at the bottom of stairways) will be a step up. But BO will dodge the requirement by relying on his hero (RM Nixon)...(LOL) oh the irony.

Bush is from Kenya?

"An Obama job approval rating of 79 percent -- that's the sort of rating you see when the public rallies around a leader after a national disaster," said Bill Schneider, CNN's senior political analyst. "To many Americans, the Bush administration was a national disaster."
